Some games, such as ones in theCall of Dutyseries, havebeen getting remasteredin recent years. This has caused fans of certain series to wish their favorite games wouldget remasteredat some point.Instead of a remaster, some players might prefer to see a game series rebooted.

These properties can range from older games of the ’90s to newer titles that have become forgotten, be it by their publishers or the general audience. These reboots can provide a modern update of a game or further explore a story that was cut short. Whether these reboots will happen, only time can tell.
10Day of Defeat
Day of Defeatis agame by Valvethat brings players to World War II. It is multiplayer only, pitting players against other users. Players can choose different classes: machine gunners, riflemen, or assault troops. The goal changes depending on the map, either having control points or bomb targets.
With Source 2 being released, it would be nice to see the series with updated graphics. A new game would be a welcome change, as new factions and maps could be introduced.
9Mercenaries
TheMercenariesseries was supposed to have a third game before theclosureof Pandemic Studios. With only two games, the series could have gone to any location to set up the next story. There was ademo that was releasedof the third game, giving fans of the series a tease of what could have been.

It would be nice to see another company pick up the series to make some new games. As a franchise,Mercenariesstill has the potential to deliver something worthwhile.
8Homefront
WhileHomefrontdoes have a sequel, it is set in an alternate timeline and does not follow the original game. It would be interesting to see the uprising in America after the game’s ending in San Francisco. There is also a lack of characters from the original game. The sequel also changes history, where the original game was set to be a plausible outcome.
Changes of the sequel include the digital revolution happening in North Korea and the communist party falling out of favor in that country. It would be great to go back to the normal timeline and see a sequel set after the original game.
7Enemy Front
Enemy Frontfollows an American war correspondent as he fights with various resistance groups through Europe. While a majority of the game takes place during the Warsaw Uprising, it also features flashbacks to Norway and France. It was different from other games set in World War II, instead opting to focus on the resistance.
A sequel could follow some of the other resistance groups that existed in Europe. The levels were also somewhat open, meaning players did not need to follow a direct path to their next objective.
BadCompanyfollowed the members of Bad Company as they fought their way through a war with Russians to search for gold. It was also one of the firstBattlefieldgames to feature a single-player story, something that has become more common in the series. The squad has lovable characters that players quickly became attached to.
While a sequel game was released, the first game ended on a cliffhanger that was not answered. The antagonist of the game is a mercenary named “The Legionnaire,” who has his helicopter shot down at the end of the game. He is revealed to still be alive but is not seen or heard about in the sequel. Many players rememberBad Companyfondly, but a new entry has yet to be officially announced. Hopefully, EA has not completely forgotten about this series.
5Half-Life: Opposing Force
Opposing Forceis an expansion of the originalHalf-Lifethat follows the soldier Adrian Shephard. It offers a unique perspective as Shephard fights through Black Mesa in an attempt to escape. What makes Shephard stand out from other characters is the fact that he does not appear in any otherHalf-Lifegames.

Barney Calhoun makes an appearance as Gordon’s best friend, but Shephard is absent. The soldier is taken by theG-Manand put into stasis, so he could make an appearance in a new game focused on him. It was later revealed that he was supposed to be the protagonist in acanceledHalf-Lifegame, so there is still hope he will make an appearance.
4Brothers In Arms
Brothers in Armstakes place in World War II. It focuses on the liberation of Western Europe and has the player control soldiers of the airborne regiments. The last game to be released for PC or console wasHell’s Highwayin 2008.
Most of the recent games have been released as mobile games. One game, calledFurious 4, was supposedto be released but wascanceled in 2015. It would be nice to see a new addition to the series updated with modern graphics for the newer consoles.
3S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
S.T.A.L.K.E.Rtakes place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone where scientists have set up labs to discover psychic abilities the radiation causes. Players fight against other Stalkers and Ukrainian soldiers patrolling the exclusion zone. The last game was released in 2009, calledCall of Pripyat.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2has been in development for over a decade, dating back to at least 2010. While the game is expected to be released in 2021, a reboot of the franchise might be a great way to entice newcomers to the series.

The 007: World Is Not Enoughis anotherJames Bondgame released on the N64. With the franchise has produced its share of video games, a reboot for007:The World Is Not Enoughcould be interesting.When aJames BondN64 game is mentioned, people generally think ofGoldenEye 007.
The World Is Not Enoughdeserves to get the love it deserves and be revisited for modern consoles. With updated graphics and gameplay, it would be a welcome addition to the newerJames Bondgames.
1The Saboteur
The Saboteuris another game made by Pandemic Studios; in fact, it was its last game. It takes place in a Nazi-occupied Paris during World War II. The protagonist, Irish-born Sean Devlin, helps the French Resistance fight back against the occupiers.The Saboteurhad a cool feature, where the game would be in black and white until the player liberated an area of Paris.
Sadly, as Pandemic’s last game, there will most likely be no new games relating toThe Saboteur. It would be exciting to see a game follow the same style, perhaps players could liberate another European country. Plus, who does not want to be a foul-mouthed Irishman fighting in a resistance?
