Summary
Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer is out now, and it has confirmed that the game won’t be available until 2025 at the earliest, but that doesn’t mean 2024 can’t be exciting forGrand Theft Autofans.Grand Theft Autofans have been waiting over a decade to playGTA 6, and it looks like they will have to wait at least a couple more years before they will have the chance to play the long-awaited open world game.
Grand Theft Auto 6coming out in 2025 is going to have a massive impact on the gaming industry. It’s highly likely that other publishers will shift their plans to avoid competing with the game, as it’s basically guaranteed to be 2025’s highest-selling game and will almost definitely launch to record-breaking sales. But even though all eyes are onGTA 6and its 2025 release window, that doesn’t mean Rockstar won’t have a presence in 2024 as well.

2025 will be massive for theGrand Theft Autofranchise, but there’s still hope that there will be some things for fans to look forward to in 2024 as well.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s 2nd Trailer Will Almost Certainly Come Out in 2024
ThefirstGrand Theft Auto 6trailer has smashed recordsand generated significant hype for the game. Excitement forGrand Theft Auto 6is through the roof since the trailer dropped, and many are excited to see more of the game. As it stands, it’s highly unlikely that Rockstar will be releasing a newGTA 6trailer at any point in the near future. In fact, it was recently pointed out that Rockstar’s titles tend to have about a year between their first and second trailers, something which could very well happen withGTA 6as well.
Assuming the secondGrand Theft Auto 6trailer follows the pattern established by Rockstar’s past titles, fans shouldn’t expect to seethe nextGTA 6traileruntil some time in late 2024. Regardless of when the next trailer comes out, though, it’s almost guaranteed to drop at some point next year, so fans should keep their eyes peeled. A newGTA 6trailer won’t be as exciting as actually playing the game, but it should go a long way in keeping fans invested while they wait for the big release in 2025.

More GTA Online Updates Are On the Way
Rockstar may be focused on developingGrand Theft Auto 6right now, but that doesn’t mean it will be abandoning itsGTA Onlinecash cow at any point in the near future.Grand Theft Auto Onlineupdateswill likely continue throughout 2024, meaning fans can look forward to new items, missions, and more to help keep them occupied while they wait for new info onGTA 6. And sinceGrand Theft Auto Onlineactually teased theGTA 6trailer date ahead of time, it’s entirely possible that more cryptic teases for the new game will be added toGTA Online, giving fans even more incentive to play the game.
Rumored Grand Theft Auto 4 Re-Release Could Help Fill the Gap
To be perfectly clear, aGrand Theft Auto 4remaster hasnotbeen announced at the time of this writing. However, there is some evidence to suggest that such a project exists and could be releasing by March 2024.Rockstar Games parent company Take-Twopreviously indicated that it had two re-releases on deck to launch by March 2024. One of those games was seemingly the originalRed Dead Redemption, and so it stands to reason that the other could very well beGrand Theft Auto 4. Of course, it could be a completely different project entirely unrelated to theGrand Theft Autofranchise, so fans should keep that in mind, but this wouldn’t be the first time that there have been rumblings about aGTA 4re-release or remaster.
It was previously reported that Rockstar had shelved plans to re-releaseRed Dead RedemptionandGrand Theft Auto 4following theGTA Trilogy’s widely negative reception. ButRed Dead Redemptionhas released since then, suggesting there could be hope forGrand Theft Auto 4to make a comeback as well. If Rockstar does decide to re-releaseGrand Theft Auto 4, it will be interesting to see if the game gets the proper remaster treatment or if it is a basic port likeRDRwas.

San Andreas VR Game Could Release or Reveal New Info
Grand Theft Auto 6isn’t the onlyGTAgame that has been officially announced. All the way back in 2021, aGrand Theft Auto: San Andreasvirtual reality gamewas announced for Meta’s Quest headsets. There have been no updates on the project since then, but with it having already been two years since its announcement, one has to imagine that it’s nearing the end of development. The alternative would be thatSan Andreas VRhas been canceled, but if so, that has not been officially announced just yet. If the game does exist, a 2024 release window seems reasonable considering when it was announced, so hopefully fans get an update on the project sooner rather than later.
