Past McDonald’s andPokemoncrossovers have also been phenomenally popular, which is why fans were excited when rumors and reports started surfacing that a new promotion between the two companies was brewing. Fortunately, the reports were proven true this week when McDonald’s revealed a new Happy Meal that features plenty ofPokemongoodies. Pokemon-themed Happy Meals have always sold like hotcakes, soPokemonfans will have to be quick if they wish to take advantage of the promotional offer.
The Happy Meal includes fourPokemoncards and all the items fans need to play Match Battles with friends. One of the four cards is also holographic, which should make the offer attractive to collectors, as some holographic cards can be quite valuable. Scalpers will likely also have their eyes on the cards, but the fast food outlet has put restrictions in place to try and ensure that all the cards are not nabbed before fans get to enjoy them. The promotional offer comes just in time for the release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, which fans eagerly await.

All the Cards Available in the Pokemon Happy Meal
Each Happy Meal contains fourPokemoncards, an instruction sheet, a Coin, a Spinner, and a card box. With these items, one can play Match Battles, a game where the last player with a Pokemon in play is victorious. For many fans, however, the main appeal is the cards, and there are fifteenPokemoncardsto collect. Fans looking to purchase aPokemonHappy Meal will have to be quick, as they tend to sell out quickly, sometimes due to scalpers nabbing the sought-after cards and reselling them on eBay for exorbitant prices. McDonald’s has taken steps to mitigate scalping by requiring customers to purchase a Happy Meal before purchasing an additional toy, and only one additional toy can be purchased per transaction, regardless of how many Happy Meals are purchased.
A Pokemon Year
It has been a good year forPokemonfans, and it continues to get better. Early 2022 brought with itPokemon Legends: Arceus, which took players back in time to the Hisui region where they could learn more about the mysterious history of Pokemon. Players can also look forward toPokemon Scarlet and Violetin November, which will serve as the latest mainline entry in the series. In the Paldea region, players will discover anew phenomenon called Terastallization, which allows Pokemon to change their form and sometimes even their Type. The impact this will have on battles will be interesting to see.
