Several days ago, Ubisoft releasedAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla, making it the sixteenth major installment in theAssassin’s Creedfranchise. Shortly after the game’s launch,Assassin’s Creed Valhallareceived mostly-positive reviewsthanks to its immersive gameplay and vast open-world environment.
In previousAssassin’s Creedgames, Ubisoft has placed Easter eggs for players to discover, and these references range from games within Ubisoft’s umbrella or from other franchises such asTheLord of the RingsandThe Legend of Zelda,to name a few. Now, some players have already discovered the Easter eggs inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, and this time, Ubisoft has taken the Wizarding World ofHarry Potteras its inspiration.

In the London area ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, players will encounter a cabin that is guarded by a snake. After killing the snake, players will be able to enter the cabin and stumble upon a strange list that has seven items on it: Diary, Ring, Locket, Cup, Diadem, Snake, and lastly, a mysterious item that is labeled ‘???’. Of course,Harry Potterfans would know that these items are references to the Horcruxes in the franchise, and the reason why the last one is labeled with question marks becausethe seventh Horcrux isHarry Potterhimself.
Apart from the Horcruxes, players will also find a cup, a necklace, a book, a tiara, and a wand inside the cabin. Furthermore, the cabin also contains otherHarry PotterEaster eggs such as four banners, each representing one of the four houses at Hogwarts: red for Gryffindor, green for Slytherin, Yellow for Hufflepuff, and blue for Ravenclaw. At the moment, it is unclear why Ubisoft has chosen theHarry Potterfranchise for its Easter eggs this year, but it is worth noting that there is an upcomingRPG game calledHogwarts Legacythat is based on the Wizarding World ofHarry Potter.
Meanwhile, some players have reported some glaring issues withAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. Yesterday, Ubisoft released a hotfix to an issue that prevents players from triggering the Seer’s Solace quest in the game. However, the issues with the new game don’t stop there, given that other players are also encounteringissues that corrupt their save data, forcing them to restart from the beginning. At the moment, the save data issue still has no solution, but Ubisoft has reassured fans that they are aware of the glitch and is currently working on a permanent fix.
Assassin’s Creed Valhallais out now for the PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
