Summary
One of the biggest mistakes that should be cleared up upfront is thatPalworld isnot just “Pokemonwith guns,” which is the easiest shorthand description. That’s because it takes a LONG time to unlock the first gun in the game, which happens via the Musket at Level Twenty-One. Furthermore, it is a grind to getgood guns inPalworld, unless players decide to cheat a little.
While borrowing heavily from survival titles likeMinecraft, open-world games likeThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and RPGs likePokemon,Palworldis its own thing. This means that players can easily get lost in the mechanics. So, let’s clear some things up to save time.

6Look Out For The Police
There Are Many Ways To Go Full Grand Theft Auto
Of the many factors in this game, some of the most surprising concerns NPCs. If players accidentally hit an NPC, aWanted level will appear InPalworldjust like in theGrand Theft Autoseries. There are a few ways to get rid of it, including dying or shutting the game down.
This is a good thing to know going into the game, especially for those who want to spread a little chaos or for those afraid of it. Perhaps even wilder is that humans can be captured with Pal Spheres, which is this game’sversion of Pokeballs. Yes, that is not a joke. Humans are harder to capture, but it can be done; once captured,Palworldwill chastise players for doing it. So, it’s not a glitch, although it remains to be seen whether this feature will be kept in the final build.

5Don’t Forget, You Can Build Outside Of Bases
Become MacGyver Of The Pal World
It might be hard to fathom, but players can build anywhere in the world. Putting a structure like a Primitive Workbench in the field will not create a base though, as the only way to do that is through Palboxes, and it takes a long time to unlock more than one. Players should know that they have options they can turn to while exploring to drum up something if they need it.
It’s not a bad idea to bring a small backup amount of materials for certain projects even though weight limits are precious. Also, on the topic of building things, some players may not realize they can continuously build things by hitting the Y button on the controller, on Xbox consoles at least. For example, this can save time when building walls for the base or when building a house.

4Pals Aren’t The Same
Look Beyond Their Stats
Players may think they should be done with a certain Pal once they catch one. Some stat junkies may attempt to catch a bunch, which is a habit that could have bled over from being obsessed withPokemonEVs. However, stats between Pals vary, and this element goes beyond the basics in ways players may not notice initially.
The Pals' base skills can also be different, which is the bigger reason why players may want to catch anywhere from five to ten of the same type of Pal. For example, one Lamball may be good at chopping down trees while another could do that and mine. It’s truly a tossup and experimentation is key.

3Use Pals Like Abilities
Resist Relying On Pals
Players can store many Pals in the Palbox and put an increasing number to work at bases. The more missions players complete, the more thePalboxwill level up and unlock stuff. Finally, in the field, players can carry five Pals and summon one at a time. They will follow players close behind, mining or attacking objects and monsters randomly unless instructed otherwise. Even though players may be tempted to play this game like aPokemonadventure and have Pals around all the time, they shouldn’t.
Summoning Pals should be treated like activating a skill in an RPG likeDiablo. For example, unlocking a certain item forFoxparks inPalworldwill allow players to wield it like a flamethrower. This skill does have a cool down so once done, put that Pal away. The fewer Pals onscreen, the better. It can get confusing in the field, even causing things to slow down graphically.

2Medicine Is Important
Don’t Let Your Pals Suffer!
Opening chests or defeating Rayne Syndicate raiders may lead players to gather low-level medicinal items. At first, this may seem like a lame item until things turn dire. Pals in the field or at home may develop some sort of disease such as a Fracture.
If this disease doesn’t get treated, it can lead to death, thus destroying all progress one makes with a Pal. Losing progress ina survival gamecomes with the territory, but it is never wanted. That’s why building a medical-based workbench is necessary along with gathering materials like Bones. Bones can be from a Pal called Vixy, which are located around the Fall-looking area north of where players start.

1Turning Off Multiplayer Will Make It Run Better
And Exploring Through Death
Palworldwas at the top of things like Steam Wishlists for a while. Still, this didn’t prepare the developer for how popular the game would be at launch. Some players are having trouble logging in as they will get an error screen. One way to alleviate this headache if it persists is to turn offmultiplayer in the options forPalworld.
This should increase the odds of the game loading properly. Another neat trick is that death can sometimes be a blessing. If players fall, they can choose where to respawn next, including islands they haven’t explored yet. This is a quick way to see the world without relying on travel options like flying with Pals like Nitewing. Players can choose to respawn in the menu too. This is only a good cheat if players are using the Casual difficulty though which eliminates losing items upon death.
