Summary

Monsters are (obviously) at the very heart ofMonster Hunter: World, and pretty much every entry in the series always revolves around unique and dangerous creatures. Despite the fact that the current vanilla version boasts over 90 unique monsters, there is always room for more.

Mod authors have done a fantastic job on many fronts, from armor to weaponsto UI. And of course, the beloved giant creatures were not left unnoticed. From reskins to reworks and even completely new additions, the monster library is quite impressive for the game and offers players a lot of customization when it comes to hunting massive beasts.

Hellblade Glavenus

8Hellblade Glavenus

Endorsements - 142

Glavenus has always been achallenging and powerful enemy, but its Hellblade variety was always on another level. While the core game does have the basic version, many players were looking to battle the infamous fiery alteration.

This mod adds that very enemy to the game, along with its respective quests and hunts. Instead of simply replacing the vanilla version, Hellblade Glavenus is its own distinctive creature and looks and fights accordingly. It is a worthy enemy, and players should tread carefully when tracking this fiery beast.

Wigglis

7Wigglis

Endorsements - 219

Fatalis is easily one of the most terrifying dragons in the game, and each encounter is riddled with dangers and needs a tactical and calculated approach. However, this mod makes a rather simple change. It completely takes away any frightening presence, at least from a visual perspective.

Wiggles are some of the most beloved creatures in the franchise, and countless players enjoy playing with a stitched helmet that looks like one. Well, this mod gives that very hat to Fatalis himself, making the encounter slightly more friendly, even if not at all safer.

Safi’jiiva Reworked

6Safi’jiiva Reworked

Endorsements - 258

Safi’jiiva is no joke, being a powerful Elder Dragon that easily manipulates energy, directing it at the pesky hunters. This mod gives this powerful adversary an even more potent look, complete with visualizing the energy-manipulating aspect.

The mod comes with 3 variations, and players are free to choose whichever form fits their preference. With different color schemes and particle effects, every version looks crisp, frighteningly beautiful, and as dangerous as ever.

Wild Chocobo in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

5Wild Chocobos

Endorsements - 260

It might be safe to say, that many players, even those who have never touched aFinal Fantasygame in their life, are quitefamiliar with Chocobos. These adorable, chick-like creatures have become quite popular in their own way and fit perfectly into the worlds of both theFinal Fantasyseries andMonster Hunter: Worlditself.

The beautiful part is that the mod replaces the Gastodons and Kestodons models with Chocobos, meaning that players can actually ride the feathered creatures inMonster Hunter: World, much like they can inFinal Fantasy 16and various otherFinal Fantasytitles. It is a quaint and harmless addition to the game, but a very, very welcome one.

Doom Eternal X Monster Hunter world A Fanmade CrossOver

4Doom Eternal X Monster Hunter World A Fanmade Crossover

Endorsements - 296

This might not be the most anticipated crossover, but then again, not many people expectedGeralt of Riviato appear in the game, so it’s notthatshocking. Specifically, the crossover adds a series of hunts and a new enemy to the already monster-riddled world: the Marauder.

Fans ofDoomwill be quite familiar with this tough enemy, armed with a ferocious axe and a shotgun. And now,Monster Hunterplayers also have the pleasure of trying tobring down this menaceand get a series of new shiny items as a reward for doing so.

Guiding Lands Better Monster Materials Drop Rate

3Guiding Lands Better Monster Materials Drop Rate

Endorsements - 353

Grinding has always been an essential part of theMonster Hunterseries, and it is unlikely that this aspect is ever going to change. Beating the stuffing out of a Rathalos over and over again just to get that last wing for a weapon or an armor is pretty much how monster hunting goes.

However, thingscanbe made a little easier without resorting to cheating. This mod, in particular, slightly alters the drop rates for Tempered enemies in Guiding Lands, making the less useful drops a little less likely while giving a higher chance for players to get the rarer materials that they need.

Devil Gene Nergigante

2Devil Gene Nergigante - Custom Subspecies

Endorsements - 563

Nergigante has always been a vicious enemy, bombarding players from above, relentlessly diving at them, and generally catching them off guard. And surprisingly, that style of attack is not at all alien toTekken’s own Devil Jin. Fittingly, this mod author brought the two together to create a fascinating monstrosity.

From the visuals to the animations to the lore, this Devil Gene Nergigante is an absolute menace. The mod does not replace the vanilla version and instead adds this creature as its own separate entity forMonster Hunter: Worldplayers to encounter.

White Fatalis

1Resurgence - Returning Monster - White Fatalis

Endorsements - 1,836

Resurgenceis a passion project of many creators, and both the White and the Crimson Fatalis are only parts of it. The authors aim to recreate many iconic monsters and their versions from the series, adding them to the game in the form of mods.

This particular Fatalis looks absolutely stunning, hammering home its power and terrifying presence. On top of the new enemy, the mod also comes with a series of weapons and armor that players can craft from the pieces of the Elder dragon, completely in style with the new version itself.
