Gearbox Software added a new mode toBorderlands 3called “Takedown at the Guardian Breach” on June 12 that acts like a raid from Bungie’sDestinyseries, andoffers players new Legendary Weaponsto obtain through random drops. However, some players have apparently found the mode to be more difficult than the rewards are worth, and as a result the developer has announced it will be adjusting Takedown based on that feedback.

The first of these adjustments, announced on Twitter by theBorderlands 3social media account Saturday, is a reduction of enemy health that will be coming “early” this week. No indication is given as to what the rest of the changes Gearbox has in mind will entail, but apparently there is “more info to come” at some point in the future.

Whether or not larger and more concrete changes will be coming to Takedown at the Guardian Breach sooner rather than later is up in the air, as Gearbox has also been preparing to launchBorderlands 3’s next DLC,Bounty of Blood: A Fistful of Redemption, at the end of the month. The studio revealed15 minutes of gameplay forBounty of Bloodlast week to help foster prospective players' interests in the DLC.

That Gearbox is listening to its fans and already planning adjustments toBorderlands 3’s newest game mode is nice to see, especially afterTakedown at the Guardian Breach was delayedin solidarity with ongoing Black Lives Matter protests worldwide. Other companies took similar stances, leading to delays with new seasons of content for Epic Games’Fortniteas well as Activision’sCall of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Sony also delayed its PlayStation 5 reveal event in order to give the protests more time in the spotlight, but that was officially held last week. Alongside the unveiling of the PS5, one of the multitudes of games spotlighted during that particular livestream wasCounterplay Games’Godfall, being published by Gearboxfor the next-generation console and PC, which received its first gameplay trailer.

However, with theBounty of BloodDLC andGodfallboth some time away, it’s good to see Gearbox preparing adjustments to content currently going through theBorderlands 3wringer. Fans of the series can also turn their attention to the battle royaleFortnite, whichbrought back itsBorderlands-themed Psycho Bundlefrom 2019 to celebrate the free release ofBorderlands: The Handsome Collection.
