Like with most online multiplayer games, theCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremultiplayer needs some balance adjustments now that it’s out in the wild. One of the most-requested changes for theCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremultiplayer is in regards to the 725 shotgun, which many agree is overpowered in its current state. Infinity Ward has yet to come out and say that a 725 shotgun nerf is coming definitively, but the multiplayer co-design director has hinted as much.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfaremultiplayer co-design director Joe Cecot responded to a clip on Twitter of streamer ChainFeeds showing just how overpowered the 725 shotgun is. In the clip, a player using the725 shotgunis able to kill ChainFeeds from a considerable distance, which typically wouldn’t be possible with shotguns in video games. Cecot replied to the clip with the eyeball emoji, indicating that the team is aware of the 725 shotgun complaints, and quite possibly hinting that a fix is on the way.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers will no doubt be happy with a 725 nerf, but it’s not the only change that fans have been asking for since launch. Another change that many would like to see is the mini-map functioning more similarly to how it did inpreviousCall of Dutygames. Right now, theCall of Duty: Modern Warfaremini-map doesn’t show enemy positions when they fire their weapons, which is something that has displeased certain members of the community.
A rumor making the rounds claims thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewill be getting a big November updatethat will “overhaul” the multiplayer experience, which will supposedly include a change to the old style of mini-map. This is far from confirmed, but even if that big “overhaul” update doesn’t come, fans can still expect Infinity Ward to make changes toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewith upcoming patches.
For the most part, Infinity Ward has been pretty quick to address bugs and other issues that fans have had withCall of Duty: Modern Warfaresince launch. For example, it patched out theweapon charm glitchvery quickly after it was discovered, and it has also added in some fan-favorite modes to public playlists, like Kill Confirmed. Even more updates will come toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarein the future, so fans should stay tuned.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
