Months beforeCall of Duty: Modern Warfarelaunched, it was confirmed thatJohn “Soap” MacTavishwould be in the game. However, Soap is so far nowhere to be seen inModern Warfare, but that could change in the near future. A frequentCall of Dutyfranchise leaker has suggested that fan favorite character Soap may indeed be coming toCall of Duty: Modern Warfareat some point soon.
For the uninitiated, Soap was one of the main characters in the originalModern Warfaretrilogy, and played a key role in that story.Captain Price mentions Soapat the end of theCall of Duty: Modern Warfarecampaign, but he has yet to actually make an official appearance.Call of Dutyfranchise leaker ModernWarzone sent out a tweet with an image of Soap saying “We’ve missed you Soap,” in turn sparking speculation that the character will be making his debut inModern Warfare, as “we’ve missed you” suggests that he no longer needs to be missed.

If Soap does come toCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, the most likely scenario is that he will come to the game as part of Season 6. Details on what exactlyModern WarfareSeason 6 will entail have yet to be revealed at the time of this writing, but each season has included a major new playable character. Most of Price’s squad that he mentions at the end of theModern Warfarecampaign have since been added, and so it’s not a stretch to assume that Soap could very well be next in line.
If Soap does come toCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 6, he will likely have a slightly redesigned look and a new voice actor. Even so, fans can expect Soap’s general personality to remain intact if he shows up in the newModern Warfaregame.
Modern WarfareSeason 6 will likely have a lot more new content to look forward to besides just Soap, though. It’s quite likely that the next season will add new maps, guns, and game modes to the experience as well. And on theWarzoneside of things, it’s been leaked that theVerdansk battle royale map may be getting subway stationsadded as part of the Season 6 update.
