Back in 2004, a development company called iQue was working on a massively multiplayer online role-playing game featuringPokemon. The project was kept secret from fans. This now-defunct PC game would have used the Game Boy Advance as a controller and would have had an online and offline mode. This would have been a Generation 3 game based onFire RedandLeaf Green.

Similar to the canceledPokemon Yellowcompanion game calledPokemon Pink, fans will be disappointed to hear that a game like this was canceled. Fans have been calling for an MMO for years with aPokemontheme, and it’s a little heartbreaking to know one could have happened. And right in the middle of MMO heyday, whenWoWwas still vanilla,Everquest 2just came out, and there were tons of MMOs on the market.

However, this is what may have lead to the death of this iQue game. Thoseold MMORPGs, some that are still around today, are big contenders for players' money. Perhaps it was too flooded a market, making Nintendo pull back on the idea.

The Gigaleak has also showed a canceledSuper Castlevania 4, aYoshi’s Island, Mario All-Stars,Mario RPG,and severalother canceled Nintendo prototypes. It’s a massive amount of information that was uncovered, and people are still digging through the files to find out everything that Nintendo never got around to finishing back in 2004 and beyond.
