One of themost deadly bosses inDiablo 4is The Butcher, a secret boss in the game that can spawn randomly in any dungeon that the player walks into. If the player is under-leveled or unprepared for the battle, there’s almost zero chance of survival. Some players immediately run when encountering The Butcher, while others seek the gigantic demon out in order to grab the valuable loot it drops. For those looking for a fight, a recent video may be the exact advantage needed to take the monster down.

Diablo 4player Atay47 posted a video on Reddit of an encounter with The Butcher that left the demon helpless to their attacks. In the video, animble frost Sorcerer builddodges all The Butcher’s attacks and quickly climbs up a nearby ladder to the platform above. From the safety of the platform, the Sorcerer rains down ice shards at the big demon as it looks up with a blank look on its face. The level 82 Butcher can do nothing but stand there as the shards rip potions out of its body and rapidly deplete its health bar. After a few seconds, The Butcher drops dead, leaving the Sorcerer to collect the sacred weapons and gear.
As effortless as this video makes this trick seem, the truth is that players looking to pull this maneuver off will need two required elements to line up. First, when The Butcher shows up, the player will need to have a ranged attack equipped that can do a good amount of damage. So classes like theSorcerer and the Rogueare better choices, in general, to pull this off than a Barbarian. Second, the player will have to have a nearby platform or cliff where they can fire projectiles safely from. This is where luck come is, as The Butcher spawns in dungeons randomly, and there won’t always be a ladder around for the player to climb.
This video is not the only time The Butcher was taken down so easily. AnotherDiablo 4player cheesed The Butcher with a Necromancer buildin a similar way, exposing that the big demon is not as scary as it seems. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Blizzard will patch out these exploits in a future update, which would make The Butcher the king of the demons once more.
