Throughout theHarry Potterbooks and movies, magical beasts have always been captivating within the Wizarding World. From the majesty of Hippogriffs and Unicorns to the frighteningly breathtaking dragons (and their many breeds) to the terrifying Acromantulas. The latter was saved somewhat by Hagrid’s loyal pet Aragog, but giant spiders that can kill students are a creature they’d want to avoid rather than seek out.

Thanks to theFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themfilms, even more of these magical beasts have been introduced toHarry Potterfans. A handful of these animals have been included inHogwarts Legacy, where the player is tasked with rescuing them from an increasing number of poachers by keeping them in vivariums within the Room of Requirement. In addition, players are responsible for nurturing the creatures inHogwarts Legacyby feeding and brushing them. In return, they are given valuable resources to upgrade items. There are manymagical creatures inHogwarts Legacythat are not in the movies, and among those are some of the most adorable beasts that are hard to leave behind in between adventuring.
5Fwooper
Fwoopers can only be found in four densinHogwarts Legacy, and are therefore a little rarer than the other beasts. But thanks to their brightly colored plumage, the birds are pretty hard to miss. These eccentric-looking owls are known to drive people mad with their song, which is heard in-game when the player and Poppy Sweeting are on the hunt for a Moonstone.
The magical birds come in four colors, including a mixture of pink, yellow, and green. Their chicks are even more adorable, with big eyes, wispy feathers, and tiny wings. Players can obtain young Fwoopers by completing the “Foal of the Dead” side quest, which involves visiting Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade to purchase the Breeding Pen Spellcraft.
4Kneazle
Kneazles aren’t necessarily cute, but their grumpy demeanor is hard not to fall in love with. It’s the closest thing to having a cat inHogwarts Legacy, and Kneazles have similar personalities. They are loyal to the witch or wizard they feel affection for and can easily detect dubious people.Kneazles can be found within five densacross theHogwarts Legacymap.

As for their looks, Kneazles resemble a mixture of a Persian and an Exotic Shorthair with tufts of hair on their ears like Caracal wild cats. Kneazle kittens are even more adorable, with their little pom-pom tails eventually growing into hair resembling a paintbrush.
3Diricawl
These little birds are known to Muggles as Dodos, but they disappeared from their world long ago. Diricawls can disappear and reappear whenever they feel threatened and have seemingly decided that the Wizarding World is a safer place for them. So much so thatDiricawls can be found in four locationsincluding the south of Lower Hogsfield.
Diricawls did appear inHogwarts Mystery, but it is much cuter inHogwarts Legacy. They have much bigger eyes and beaks than their previous design, and the colors of their feathers are much more pronounced. Like Fwoopers, Diricawl chicks are even cuter, with tiny wings and bodies with smaller beaks.
2Mooncalf
A strange amalgamation of a calf and a weasel with webbed feet, Mooncalves are nonetheless adorable. Especially because of those big round eyes – nobody would ever be able to say no to them. Players will only find these little critters at night when the full moon is out, dancing to their heart’s content, which is even purer. Thankfully,a Mooncalf den can be foundjust above the Quidditch pitch at Hogwarts, making them easy to find.

It’s hard not to just stay in the vivarium and watch a Mooncalf when it’s being fed, brushed, and playing with its favorite toy, which is, of course, the Moon Ball. Mooncalves deserve all the love in the Wizarding World, particularly since they seem to be a major target for poachers. As players traverse the map, there will be plenty of opportunities to free Mooncalfs from cages as well as aid in rescuing a special little Mooncalf called Biscuit for a Goblin called Garnuff.
1Niffler
Sharing a resemblance with the Platypus, Nifflers are by far the cutest beast in the Wizarding World. Nifflers are mischievous little creatures with a penchant for shiny things and will stop at nothing other than stealing all they can and stowing it away in their pouch before bringing it back to their den, with themajority of Niffler dens found to the south of Hogwarts. When players brush Nifflers after rescuing them, their hidden treasure will fall to the ground.
If there was an opportunity to have beast companions in the game to follow players around and help with puzzles, Nifflers would probably be the most sought-after. Particularly if players could raise them from babies, as Nifflers look especially derpy when they’re young, thanks to a lack of hair and beaks that are entirely too big for their little faces.
