ADestiny 2player has discovered a Guardian that looks like Jim Carrey’s iconic character fromThe Mask. Whilecustomization inDestiny 2could still use some work, this find shows there’s still plenty of potential in the existing options.
Destiny 2has received some criticism as of late. Many fans felt thatDestiny 2’s latest expansion, Lightfall, wasn’t a big enough update to justify being a full-scale expansion, with particular criticism aimed at the lackluster story of the DLC. However, it did come with a bunch of new armor options for players to customize their Guardians, and gamers are clearly having a bit of fun with it if this post is anything to go by. To Bungie’s credit, the studio has been working on player complaints throughout the game’s Seasons, and players are starting to come around. All of theDestiny 2expansions are currently on sale for a huge discount, so it’s a good time to grab them for a much lower price than usual.

Redditor KingNick came across the fun creation while playing through aDestiny 2Strike, with one of their teammates bearing a striking resemblance to the protagonist ofThe Mask. The similarities are undeniable, from the yellow suit and hat, to the vibrant green mask. Best of all, it doesn’t even look too out of place, withDestiny 2’s cohesive aesthetic allowing for some strange creations to fit right in with the rest of the game.
Over the years, players have usedDestiny 2’s customization options to pay homage to some of their favorite characters from other franchises. OneDestiny 2player even turned their Guardian into Winnie the Pooh. With the upcoming Seasons forDestiny 2Lightfall, hopefully, Bungie will add even more customization options to the game, so gamers can continue to experiment with what is possible with their Guardians.
There’s no denying thatDestiny 2is in a good place in terms of the player population, even with Lightfall not living up to many players' expectations. Fans are already speculating about what The Final Shape, the final expansion of the Light and Darkness Saga, will entail, and it could be massive in finally wrapping up the story that began with the game’s release. Plans after this are yet to be revealed by Bungie, and it will be interesting to see if the studio pursues a potentialDestiny 3, or if it goes the route of another narrative saga forDestiny 2.
