Bungie’s latest blog post reveals that the worst-performing Exotic armor will receive substantial buffs inDestiny 2Season 22, which begins in August 2023. Moreover, the best Exotic armor that Bungie deems “too strong” will receive nerfs in the upcoming season. After the launch of Season 22, Bungie plans to continue balancing Exotic armor incrementally over time in subsequentDestiny 2seasons.
Bungie didn’t elaborate on which Exotic armor pieces will be targeted by buffs and nerfs in Season 22. However, the developers note that many existing Exotic armor pieces are not commonly used in the currentDestiny 2sandbox. A new list of Exotic armor changes will be released closer to the launch of Season 22, and Bungie hopes fans look forward to this next round of Exotic tuning.
Season 22 appears to be another opportunity for Bungie to update and buff legacy Exotic armor from the first few years ofDestiny 2. The upcoming season may encourage players to try out old Exotics from their vault and promote a more diverse sandbox in PvE and PvP content. SinceDestiny 2’sbest Exotic armorwill be nerfed, players may also want to consider making new loadouts ahead of Season 22.
