Following a recent update toDestiny 2, players discover that a popular farming method related to the Terminal Overload activity has been quietly removed. It’s been a busy week so far in Destiny 2 as the weekly reset has not only refreshed the game’s quests and rewards, but fans now have access to the finale mission for Season of Defiance. Alongside the reset,Destiny 2also received its big Mid-Season updatewhich also brought about major changes to gear.

AsDestiny 2players have already been experimenting with, the big mid-season update brought about numerous tweaks and adjustments for weapons. In fact, a number of primary weapons got a huge boost in damage against both red and orange life bar enemies, with Auto Rifles getting a huge 25% buff. It has already got players thinking that certain weapons, likethe Lightfall exotic Quicksilver Storm, could be even more powerful. Unfortunately, it looks like the update has also had a negative effect on the game, especially for players attempting to gain Lightfall gear quickly.

One of the more popular farming methods after the arrival ofDestiny 2Lightfall was with the Terminal Overload activity. Players discovered that after downing the final boss, they could jump on a sparrow, race to a new zone, and then turn around and go back to have the reward chest respawn with new gear. Players who were fast enough could loot the chest 3 times before the mission reset. Unfortunately, players have now discovered that this trick has been removed from the game, a change that went unreported in the patch notes for update 7.0.5.0.

The discovery was noted byDestiny 2subReddit user TheGreatWaffles, who even posted a video of the trick no longer working. The reveal was backed up by countless players in the comments, all lamenting the fact that this useful trick for not only leveling up crafted weapons and earning important resources was no longer available. Many fans seem to ready to head back to the Thrall Tunnel with Shuro Chi, though there are some who continue to be frustrated by Bungie focusing on quickly patching out player friendly tricks, while bigger issues remain unresolved.

The change is also a blow forDestiny 2players still attempting to rank up with Nimbus. The cloud strider vendor on Neomuna offers players daily and weekly bounties, though looting the Terminal Overload chest multiple times in one run was a popular way to quickly and easily earn reputation. For now, it seems players will need to hunt down collectables, continue running missions, and finishing public events to grind out new levels.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
