It was a big week forDestiny 2players as the Solstice summer event kicked off in full. An evolution of sorts of the previous “Solstice of Heroes” event, this year’s version takes players to a new activity inside the European Aerial Zone, where teams of three work together to build a massive bonfire against waves of enemies and a massive Taken Ogre boss. Naturally, this year’s event features new loot, glowing armor, summer-themed cosmetics, andthe first instance of an Event Card, which can be completed to earn a new title called Flamekeeper.
In addition to Solstice, Bungie also confirmed its planning ashowcase event later in August forDestiny 2. Surprisingly, the studio intends to provide fans with their first ever look at the next expansion called Lightfall. Some players have also pointed out that the showcase day is also set to be the Season 18 launch date, so many are expecting a Season 18 reveal on that day which includes big features like the Arc 3.0 subclass rework. It’s certainly something Bungie has done before, revealing Season of Arrivals through a ViDoc on the same day it intended to launch.

With the Solstice raging on, players should stop to take a moment to visit the weekend merchant Xur, who is back again inDestiny 2. Follow this guide for his most current weekend location, news on his exotic cipher quest, as well as a review of all the exotic and legendary gear he’s brought for the weekend of June 24, 2025.

Where is Xur?
Over this weekend, players should head to Watcher’s Grave on Nessus to find the merchant up the massive tree towards the back of the zone.
From the Director, head to Nessus and load into Watcher’s Grave. Run towards the back of the zone where a massive tree is found. Jump up until players find the huge branch where the merchant is hanging out.

Class Armor and Exotic Cipher
Xur’s role continues to offer the usual weekly quests, exotics, and legendary gear. Not only are these quests required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the Tower kiosk. Players can earn a new cipher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clan mates or finishing more challenging activities.
Xur continues to sell even more gear outside his usual content. In addition to his normal exotic gear, Xur now has Legendary Weapons and Armor for sale in exchange for Legendary Shards and Glimmer.

Exotic Armor
Starfire Protocol - Warlock chest armor
It’s been quite a while but the Starfire Protocol is back in stock at Xur. Fusion Harness provides players with 1 extra fusion grenade charge, and they also recharge the Rift ability faster when the player makes a kill with a grenade.

While the perks may not sound very exciting, players have found some interesting uses for the armor, especially with the Solar 3.0 reworks. This support build allows players to use an empowering rift basically letting them have two healing grenades. Plus, the added damage not only recharges the rift but kills made from an empowered weapon also recharge the grenade faster as well. It’s not a must-have item this week, but it does have its uses. Roll-wise, it’s the lowest of the three but it does have extremely high Resilience and Discipline.
Void Enhanced. Stat Values:
Knucklehead Radar - Hunter helmet
Hunters gets the Knucklehead Radar helmet this week. The helm really lends itself toPvP modes in the Cruciblethanks to the perk Upgraded Sensor Pack which enhances the player’s radar when crouched and keeps it on the screen when aiming down the sights.
Useful is the best term to describe this exotic as it’s not the best option out there for Hunters, but it can be valuable in the right situations. Knowing where enemies are coming from even when aiming down the sights can come in handy inside the Crucible, though there are better options overall. The roll isn’t great this week, so it’s not required this week.

Armamentarium - Titan chest armor
A few months later and The Armamentarium is back for Titans this week. Its exotic perk And Another Thing gives players one additional grenade charge. Unlike other exotics, this armor is easy to pair with any subclass, though it does shine brighter with specific ones.

A popular tactic with this item is to run suppressor grenades which will grant players double the power to take supers away from their enemies. It may not be exciting or flashy compared to some other exotics in the game, but it remains easy to recommend considering how valuable two grenades can be in most situations. The roll this week is pretty good with an extremely high Resilience and also the highest of the three armor pieces. As such, it’s worth a pickup this week.
Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:
Exotic Weapon
Less than a month later, the Queenbreakeris back. It allows players to pick how they want the gun to fire. Through Marksman sights, players can stack additional damage with long-range sights that also display ammo and charge levels. The tradeoff is that it takes the gun a little longer to fully charge before firing. Combat sights give the player faster charges and greater handling, though they can’t zoom in as far.
The exotic perk for this weapon is called Wire Rifle which fires a long range precision Arc bolt that blinds enemies on hit. Players can also change the sights on it which impacts charge time and damage. This is a bit of a skill weapon, so it won’t be for everyone. However, those who give it a chance will find that it’s pretty useful in the right situations, even though it requires heavy ammo.
Additional perks:
Since Season 16 removed the Presage and Harbinger exotic missions,Xur is also selling both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale with randomized rolls. Players should visit him each weekend as he’ll be carrying different rolls.
Hawkmoon Rolls:
Dead Man’s Tale
