With the full launch ofDiablo 4right around the corner, Blizzard released the patch notes for version 1.0.2d of the game, which brought some class balance changes and bug fixes. While not every ongoing issue was addressed in Patch 1.0.2d, Blizzard stated on social media that it will keep listening to player feedback both during and after the launch ofDiablo 4.

To start the month,Diablo 4entered early access for those that purchased the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Editions on PC or console. However, players that purchased the standard edition will have to wait a little longer to play the game. While the early access period forDiablo 4was marred by major connection issuesand some bugs that cropped up, Blizzard stated that it is monitoring issues as they arise and issuing fixes when possible. Patch 1.0.2d continues that trend, with a focus on class balance prior to the game’s full release.

According to Blizzard,Diablo 4Patch 1.0.2d looks to turn down the effectiveness of certain builds and some Paragon Glyphs, while bolstering some skills and builds that had been underperforming. In a previous fix, the overpoweredGohr’s Devastating Grips for Barbarians was disabledwhile Blizzard worked on correcting problems with the Unique item and ability. In Patch 1.0.2d, the fix was issued for Gohr’s Devastating Grips, which made it significantly less devastating than before. The grips will gain significantly less bonus explosion damage from Whirlwind, will no longer gain the bonus from destructible objects, and only gain it from the first 100 hits of Whirlwind.

In addition, Necromancer minions and Druid companions received a buff in their defenses, as they will take less damage from damage-over-time effects. Several Necromancer abilities, such as Blood Lance, Blood Wave, and Army of the Dead received some buffs, which should begood news for Necromancer buildsthat run those abilities. However, Paragon Glyphs inDiablo 4were nerfed by 34%, with a few exceptions. Glyphs that buffed critical strike chance and the potency of the vulnerability debuff had their power reduced by 66%, and some node bonuses were reduced by at least 50%.

However,Diablo 4players looking fora fix for the Stolen Artifice sidequest in Scosglenwill have to wait a little longer, as that quest remains disabled as of Patch 1.0.2d. Only time will tell when Blizzard will issue a fix for it and other ongoing issues.

July 11, 2025 - Diablo IV Patch Notes 1.0.2d Build #42131 (All Platforms)

Hello wanderer!

We’ve made some balance adjustments to Classes and want to provide our reasoning behind them. Overall, we’re quite happy with the performance of our Classes, but we know there is always room for improvement. Our goal behind these changes is to create a better balanced and enjoyable experience across the board. Our updates fall into 3 categories:

An ideal we have carried throughout development and will uphold is that Class balance is a journey, not a destination. We want more Class builds to be fun, powerful, and competitive within reason.

Thank you all for supporting us, and we’ll see you in Sanctuary!
