Team Ninja has recently revealed that it there isn’t much of a possibility of theNiohgames appearing on Xbox anytime soon. The firstNiohtitle launched back in 2017, and both it and the 2020 follow-up title are praised as some great action RPGs. Taking clearinspiration from the Soulsborne series,Niohcombines fast-paced combat with heaps of interesting Japanese mythology and history, as well as a nod to the real-life historical figure William Adams, who became one of the only Western samurai.BothNiohgames were well-received Soulslikes, but unfortunately for Xbox owners, the titles were only made available on PlayStation and PC. However, for those that want a classic Team Ninja experience on the Xbox,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastymight be able to provide that. Announced as one of two games Team Ninja is working on currently,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastywas revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcasethis past June. Like theNiohgames,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastyhas quick combat and is filled with interesting mythological creatures and themes.RELATED:Soulslike Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Has an Interesting Take on PvPUnlike theNiohgames, though,Wo Long: Fallen Dynastyis set to release on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. It will even be a day one release for Xbox Game Pass when it launches in early 2023. Speaking toNiohDirector Fumihiko Yasuda andBloodborneProducer Masaaki Yamagiwa, who are both working onWo Long: Fallen Dynasty, VGC asked about the possibility of some other Team Ninja titles coming to Xbox. However, it seems highly unlikely thatNiohwill come to Xbox, as Yasuda stated that “there’s not really too much of a possibility of havingNiohon Xbox platforms.”

This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as even while both Yasuda and Yamagiwa praised how Xbox has been doing in Japan lately, it seems the current priority is onWo Long: Fallen Dynastyand Team Ninja’s other upcoming titleRise of the Ronin. Still, with Xbox showing an increased focus on the Japanese gaming market and theXbox Series S outselling the PS5 in Japanin May, it seems that down the line there could be a possibility for eitherNiohor even theNinja Gaidengames to make their way to Microsoft platforms.

Even withWo Long: Fallen Dynastycoming to Xbox, this may not indicate that all of Team Ninja’s future titles will be available on the platform.Rise of the Roninis a Sony exclusive, for example, showing that perhaps Team Ninja isn’t quite ready to depart from its previous pattern of PlayStation exclusivity.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynastywill be released in early 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
