Last month, the DC Fandome show revealed many of the most anticipated DC works such as theGotham Knightstitle, theSuicide Squadvideo game, and new trailers forWonder Woman 1984andThe Batman. However, one thing was missing from the DC Universe in the event. Despite Ed Boon attending the first DC Fandome, nothing aboutInjustice 3was mentioned.

Now, during part two of DC Fandome, Ed Boon has made another appearance, this time during the “InsideInjustice- Making the Hit Games and Comics” panel. Rumors have been flying around about whatNetherRealm’s next releasecould be. WhileMortal Kombat 11is still receiving support with themed character skins and a rumored Kombat Pack on the way, many fans are still anticipating any announcement regardingInjustice 3.

Ed Boon did comment onInjustice 3during the panel, but did not reveal much. Boon stated, “I wish we could talk but at the moment we have nothing to announce, but we appreciate the desire to see it.” As of now, Boon has squashed all rumors of anInjustice 3announcement, but it is important to note thatBoon is well-known for throwing fans off with comments, so theMortal Kombatcreator may have more in store than he is letting on.

Many fans were hoping that Ed Boon’s appearance in theInjusticepanel would confirm theInjustice 3rumors, but based on Boon’s comments, ifInjustice 3is in development, it would be in the very early stages. Fans still have plenty of DC video game content to look forward to withGotham KnightsandSuicide Squad. Both games feature four playable characters so DC fans will get a chance to use Batman’s apprentices and the unlikely squad of supervillains.

In fact,Injustice 2featured many of the characters in the upcoming DC games so fans may notice some similarities in fighting styles and powers. Robin, Red Hood, Harley Quinn, Deathstroke, and Superman are all included inInjustice 2’smassive roster. IfInjustice 3does ever get announced, it may take inspiration from the large list of DC works coming soon like Robert Pattinson’s Batman or thenewly introduced characters like Bloodsport, King Shark, and Peacemakerfrom James Gunn’sSuicide Squadremake.

Fans should not give up hope onInjustice 3, as NetherRealm is still supportingMortal Kombat 11, but perhaps will shift focus as time goes on. Boon has said thatMortal Kombat 11will receive support and new content for years, but that does not meanInjustice 3will not be a priority. As of now, fans can be on the lookout for any further information aboutInjustice 3,but it is unlikely that any other DC Fandome panel will mention the title.

Injustice 3has not been announced by NetherRealm Studios.
