Elden Ringfeatures dozens of fearsome bosses for players to challenge. Some bosses inElden Ring, notably the optional endgame fights, are considered by many as the most difficult bosses in FromSoftware’s history.

Since its release in February,Elden Ringplayers have developed various strategiesto take down the bosses with minimal effort. Such cheese tactics often allow gamers to defeat the boss without getting hit. Some rely on glitches, while others use overpowered builds and abilities. Many players have used cheese tactics to defeat bosses in other FromSoftware games, so it’s not surprising to see them find ways to trounce the ones inElden Ring. One player, however, was hilariously unsuccessful in their attempt to use an overpowered attack on anElden Ringfield boss.

A Redditor named Mirror_of_Souls attempts to use anoverpoweredElden Ringtacticto defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter boss, who can be fought at various locations in the game. Bell Bearing Hunter’s health bar appears at the bottom, indicating the beginning of the fight, and Mirror_of_Souls starts making preparations for their strategy. However, the boss is nowhere to be seen. Mirror_of_Souls performs the first step of the tactic, only for the boss to hilariously appear from behind. The video ends at that very moment, but it’s safe to assume that they didn’t get a chance to complete the tactic.

It’s funny to see Mirror_of_Souls prepare for their buffed-up attack but forget the boss’s location. One post mentions how Bell Bearing Hunter creeps up on the player like an ax-murderer in a horror film. Mirror_of_Souls states that they panicked after seeing him, made several mistakes, and ultimately died. They also confirm that this fight takes place at the Isolated Merchant’s Shack in Dragonbarrow, and mention that the boss will be too difficult for players using amelee build inElden Ring.

In this case, Mirror_of_Souls uses an overpowered magic build that can defeat manyElden Ringbosses in one hit. The main sorcery used is calledComet Azur, and players can unleash a massive beam that lasts for several seconds. A Cerulean Hidden Tear is required for this cheese tactic, and players can also use other sorceries and equipment to increase their magic damage. Mirror_of_Souls casts Terra Magica to increase their damage output, but the boss appears as soon as they use the Flask of Wondrous Physick, which presumably contains a mixture of the Cerulean Hidden Tear and the Magic-Shrouding Cracked Tear.

Elden Ringis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
