One of the most important pieces of equipment the Tank class can equip is some good armor. Damage resistance is key to the role of the Tank, and even in solo play, they are more likely to sustain higher amounts of damage than players specializing in other class types.
For this reason, Heavy Plates is an important skill to have. It will add10% damage resistance to any equipped armor.To unlock this skill, players will need to first unlock Shiny Plates, which will also increase damage resistance by 10%. This results in a total of a 20% increase, which is very substantial for the class.
7Battle Heal
A Chance Of Healing With Critical Hits
Battle Heal is an important skillfor the Tank class, and will provide a5% HP regeneration whenever a critical hit is landed.This can be improved through the acquisition of other skills and weapons that focus on delivering critical hit damage.
This skill can be extremely useful in close battles against similarly-matched enemies. Although the skill does not activate frequently, it helps to give an added advantage to landing critical hits, beyond the obvious bonus damage.
6Warden
A Must-Have Resistance Skill For All Tank Players
Warden is one of the best abilities for any player specializing in the Tank class. The skill will grant15% magical damage resistancewhen three or more enemies are within 20 meters. Considering it is often the role of the Tank to draw many enemies in close, while oftensustaining ranged magical damage, this skill addresses two issues in one.
There is also a second tier to the skill named “Tower,” which will grant an additional 10% physical damage resistance when three or more enemies are in range. Together, these skills can make the Tank extremely powerful in their designated role with a high resistance to both physical and magical damage.
5Evasion Attack
Unique Abilities Can Be Used For Several Purposes
Evasion Attack is a powerful ability which enables Tanks tocombine their dodge-roll with a melee strike,granting additional bonus damage when used. This can be useful in a number of circumstances, such as at the very start of combat to gain a quick advantage.
It can also be useful when facing many different enemies on different sides. It will enable players to simultaneously avoid incoming attacks while dealing massive amounts of damage with their melee weapon.
4Nemesis
Useful Co-Op Ability Helps Draw Attention Away From Teammates
The Tank’s primary ability is to draw enemies near to them,particularly in co-op settingswhere the other players might be using a Ranger or Survivor class. As such, it can be very useful to unlock the Nemesis skill for this exact reason.
Once acquired, the Nemesis skill will cause all enemies to be drawn to the tank in equal measure whenever an ally draws their attention. This can take a lot of the pressure off and prevent some of the ranged classes from being overwhelmed at the start of engagements.
3Earth Aura
A Great passive Ability To Provide Damage Resistance
Another useful co-op ability, which can also be helpful for solo players, is the Earth Aura skill. Like all aura skills, it is an area-of-effect ability which will only affect allies within a 15-meter radius. For those allies,all incoming damage will be reduced by 10%.
As a passive skill, this will automatically activate whenever the requirements are met, so players will not have to cast any particular spells to activate it. This additional bonus to damage resistance can be extremely helpful, especially in tandem with similar skills like Warden and Tower.
2Soul Leech
Great Co-Op Skill When Playing With Magic-Based Allies
Soul Leech is one of the best skills Tanks can get, especially when playing in co-op with magic-focused allies such as Wizards or Healers.For each enemy killedwith a melee weapon, allies will regenerate 20 mana.
This can be extremely useful when playing alongside Healers, as it will enable them to continually replenish the tank as they take down enemies from up close. It can also provide a significant advantage to offensive classes such as the Wizard or Battlemage, providing them with more “ammunition” to cast spells.
1Thick Skin
Provides Constitution Depending On Flame Altar Levels
Thick Skin is one of the top-tier skills for the Tank class, and is equally effective in both singleplayer and co-op. For everytwo Flame Alter levels, players will receive one constitution attribute. Since players will have to unlock lots of constitution skills along their way through the skill tree, this should elevate them to extreme levels of damage resistance.
Since the constitution attribute affects the player’s overall HP and health regeneration, it makes sense that the Tank should invest in this attribute heavily, even if they are already equipped with powerful sets of weapons and armor.
