Falloutfans have widely praised the television show on Amazon Prime, and oneFallout 4player in particular has chosen to recreate Norm MacLean as the Sole Survivor. Though the show sparked some initial controversy in theFalloutcommunity due to a misunderstanding about how it fits into the timeline afterFallout: New Vegas, it has ultimately been embraced by a majority of fans – and perhaps most importantly – it brought a lot of new players toFallout 4,Fallout 76, and even the older titles.
WhileFallout 76is the latest installment in the franchise, and receives regular updates from the development team at Bethesda, it could be argued thatFallout 4is the best entry point for fans of the show. While marketing largely focused on Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul, Norm’s popularity was entirely built by fans who enjoyed his investigatory skills as he navigated the dark mystery of Vault 31.

Though it may be outdated compared to those of more modern games such asStarfieldorDragon’s Dogma 2, one noteworthy aspect ofFallout 4’s character creator is its sculpting approach to facial sliders. Instead of going through a long list, players can simply select the facial part they want to change, and drag it in the direction of their choosing.
Fallout’s Popularity Brought New Players to the Fallout Franchise
Thanks to the show’s popularity and critical acclaim, theplayer count across allFallouttitleshas rapidly grown on Steam, and this resurgent interest in the franchise poses an interesting challenge for Bethesda. WithThe Elder Scrolls 6in full development, it may be several years until fans hear any information or read any official news aboutFallout 5. Though the live service aspect ofFallout 76is useful in retaining players, many in theFalloutcommunity can’t help but wonder if Bethesda will miss out by not releasing a new mainline title during the show’s run on Amazon Prime.
