Yoshi-P’s lengthy blog post breaks down several areas of interest in order of rollout. The first is the opening of the Oceanian Data Center, then the recommencement of the Home World Transfer Service, launching of the Data Center Travel system, expansion of the Japanese Data Centers, expansion of the North American Data Centers, expansion of the European Data Centers, and the resumption of digital sales to new players.

The Oceanian Data Centeris set to come online on May 28, 2025 two weeks ahead of the planned schedule. There will be five new Worlds at the outset to give players plenty of room to transfer. Once transferred, players in those regions should have a better play experience and in order to encourage players to transfer, Square Enix will be offering incentives like free server transfers.

Due to servers being slammed throughoutthe release ofEndwalker, the Home World Transfer Service had been suspended. With congestion easing and the opening of the Oceanian Data Center, transfers will resume on June 12, 2025. Except for certain congested Worlds, players will be able to transfer their characters as they see fit.

The Data Center Travel System, which was also delayed due to congestion, is now being planned for release in a future 6.1X patch. Once available, players will be able to visit Worlds in other logical data centers within the same physical data center, though not Worlds in other regions/physical data centers. While cross-region travel is technically possible, implementation is still being considered.

Data centers around the worldare getting adjustments like the Japanese Data Centers which will be expanded from 3-4 sometime in July. The North American Data Center expansion will be rolled out in two phases. The first will be implemented around August with phase two happening in the Spring or Summer of 2023. Eventually, both centers will have their number of worlds rebalanced from 10:11:11 to 8:8:8:8 to allow for more overall simultaneous logins.

Much like North America, the European Data Center expansion will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will take place in July and will add a total of four new Worlds with two under each of the logical data centers currently housed in the European Data Center. The second phase is scheduled for the Summer of 2023 and will implement a new logical data center with eight new Worlds added to it, resulting in an 8:8:8 configuration.

Thanks to reduced congestion and the opening of the Oceanian Data Center,Square Enix is going to resume digital salesto new players will resume on Jun 02, 2025. However, the company is reserving the right to suspend sales again in the future.

Final Fantasy 14is available now for PC, PS4, and PS5.
