Players who own the PlayStation 4 version ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakewill be able toupgrade their copy toFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradefor free, but they still will have to pay forEpisode Yuffie. Players who just purchase the new version of the game will getEpisode Yuffiebundled in for free, but even players who purchase the physical edition will have to download the DLC. The news comes via Australian video games retailer EB Games, which updated its store page for the game stating thatEpisode Yuffiewill be a download code supplied in the game’s case.
The news has raised a few issues that excited fans are worried about, specifically concerns over the preservation of the DLC. While the decision was eventually walked back,PlayStation almost shut down the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita stores. The closure would have removed access to hundreds of titles, and some fans are worried that the same could eventually happen toEpisode Yuffieif it is only ever available through digital download.
The fact thatEpisode Yuffiewill not be fully included with physical copies ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradeis a bit surprising. Hopefully, the DLC will make its way to physical versions or other storefronts in the future so that it can be better preserved to ensure that players can always have access to it.
However, the exclusivity of bothFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeas well asFinal Fantasy 7 Remake Intergradestill has a while left, so it may be a while before the title jumps to other platforms if it ever does at all. It is still exciting to be aFinal Fantasyfan, however, as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is posed to give fans a good look at what theymay be able to expect from part two ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remake.
