The Nintendo Direct showcased a ton of new content, but one thing that should not have flown under radars is that the former PlayStation console exclusive,Sifu, is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. Currently,Sifuis only available on PC, PS4, and PS5, but that’s all going to change.

Sifuhas solid reviewsand is loved by many fans the world over. It’s a beat ‘em up with a fun control scheme for performing martial arts, with a unique gameplay structure based on the main character’s age.Sifuis a roguelike where deaths stack and cause the player to age, with many fans aiming to beat the game at the youngest age possible. It’s also the perfect example of a game where the focus is “fun.”

Sifuis, by no means, the most technically challenging game out there, and for that reason alone, it’s perfect for the Switch. The Nintendo Switch is perfectly capable of runningdemanding games likeThe Witcher 3orAssassin’s Creed: Black Flag, but it’s a console that pushes fun over everything. AndSifuis definitely fun. Fans will be able to pick upSifuon the Nintendo eShop on November 8, with pre-orders going live today (September 13).

PlayStation supported indie developer Sloclap, highlightingSifuat event after event. It’s definitely a surprise appearance for theNintendo Direct. It’s likely, partially, thanks to Sony that Sifu got as much recognition as it did, as Sifu sold 500,000 copies in its first two weeks and 1 million in its first month or so. This, again, while only releasing on PC, PS4, and PS5. So, to see Sifu expand out and be more accessible on platforms like Switch is a grand thing. More gamers will be able to check out this one-of-a-kind title, so everyone wins.

Of course, Sloclap has supportedSifuwith numerous updatessince launch, so it’s unlikely the title is going to lose its popularity anytime soon. It’s hard a remarkable 7 months after all and is hitting more platforms within its first year. It’s uncertain ifSifuwould ever be playable on a platform like Xbox, but nonetheless, it is landing in more hands relatively soon.

Sifuis available now for PC, PS4, and PS5. The Switch version releases on November 8.
