Fortniteis rolling out its latest update, adding the new “Fire with Fire Week” which unvaults multiple fire-based weapons. Towards the end of each recent season, the battle royale title has a tendency to temporarily unvault clusters of items after the bulk of the current season’s events have wrapped up, giving players an opportunity to experiment with the latest island configuration. Sticking true to its practices,Fortnitehas revealed a new fire-themed week, which unvaults several long-dormant weapons and increases the spawn rate of others.

The “Fire wIth Fire Week” comes as part ofFortnite’s v21.51 update, which is purported to be Chapter 3 Season 3’s final update. Epic Games' wildly popular free-to-play title has continued its reign as crossover king in the midst of its themed weeks, most recentlyadding Starfire from DC’sTeen Titans.

Detailed in an official blog post,Fortnite’s Fire with Fire Week will unvault several fire-based weapons, including the Primal Flame Bow and Dragon’s Breath Shotgun. For those who may be unfamiliar, the Primal Flame Bow was introduced as a craftable weapon during Chapter 2 Season 6, firing flame arrows, while the Dragon’s Breath Shotgun is a powerful one-shot item using four shotgun shells each time. Players can find both of the unvaulted items as floor loot and in Chests. Firefly Jars and Chug Cannons will have increased spawn rates during the week as well, adding more (or less) fuel to the fire.

Fortnite Fire with Fire Week Weapons

Fire with Fire Week comes off the heels of another themed week inFortnite, Shadow of Phantasm Week. The previous week unvaulted items likethe Shadow Bomb and Shield Bubble, with the former not seen in the game sinceFortnite’s very first Chapter. In addition to the tactical items, the prior week also unvaulted the Suppressed Assault Rifle and Suppressed SMG, really helping to drive home the stealthy theme.

Interestingly,Fortnitehas had a fire-themed week before, and its first “themed” week at that. In May 2021,Fortniteintroduced its “Wild Weeks,” which put an emphasis on a certain gameplay aspect and kicked off with “Fighting Fire with Fire.” The previous iteration is similar to the current one now, with the Dragon’s Breath Shotgun in place of the Flare Gun. Similarly to the previous version, the new Fire with Fire Week will feature fire-based quests sure to heat up the competition on the island.

Fortnite’s Fire with Fire Week runs from September 7 at 9 AM ET to September 13 at 9 AM ET, which falls just a few days before Chapter 3 Season 3’s expected end date of September 17. Completionists should be sure tocomplete all achievements at Rainbow Crossroads, as well as finish up any other quests before Chapter 3 Season 4 begins.

Fortniteis free-to-play on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
