Every six weeks, HoYoverse releases anewGenshin Impactupdateto show Travelers what they can expect in the upcoming version. This livestream comes on Friday, almost two weeks before the new update drops on Tuesday/Wednesday (depending on the player’s time zone). However, sometimes, issues arise that cause the special program to be delayed. One time, a version was even extended for a massive three weeks, which was a great surprise for players since HoYoverse is usually consistent with their schedule.
Players are excited to see what HoYoverse has in store when it comes to version 4.2, and many are looking forward to the upcoming livestream. Unfortunately, despite the special program being scheduled for August 01, 2025, theGenshin Impactofficial accounts have announced that the version 4.2 livestream is going to be delayed. There’s currently no other announcement regarding the delay, so there’s not yet a new date for the livestream, and Travelers are requested to wait until more information is available.
No one knows for sure the reason behind the delay, but some people believe that the postponement happened because a large public figure in China recently passed away. Considering that paying tribute to a high-profile figure’s passing is common in many places, it’s understandable if that’s why theGenshin Impact4.2 livestreamis postponed. Plenty of Travelers are naturally upset with the setback, and many of them wish the best for the affected people and hope that the country can heal well from losing an important figure.
