November 11 is shaping up to be an important day in theGenshin Impactcommunity. This date marksthe release of the highly anticipated 1.1 update, which will bring a wealth of new content such as quality of life improvements and the continuation of the game’s Liyue story arc. In addition to these sought after updates, players will have their shot at pulling four new characters through the game’s gach system.
Genshin Impact’s 1.1 update will feature four new characters (2 four stars and 2 five stars) of various backgrounds and abilities. In regards to weapon choice, these characters can be broken down into two bow users, a great sword wielder, and one fighter that utilizes a polearm. And when it comes to Elemental type, these characters all fall into different categories with Hydro, Cryo, Pyro, and Geo.

Tartaglia Childe - 5 Star
Players that have progressed far into the Liyue story arc are likely already familiar with the shifty Snezhnayan Tartaglia, better known as Childe.Childe will beGenshin Impact’s first characterthat utilizes both a bow and the Hydro Element. While players can expect his normal and charged attacks to be the standard combo string that bow wielders utilize, Childe’s strength will come from his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst, which will allow him to switch between ranged attacks and melee attacks. This will likely cause many players to set him as one of their team DPS roles.
Zhongli - 5 Star
The otherfive star character players can expect inGenshin Impact’s1.1 updateis the seeming head of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Zhongli. Wielding both a polearm and the Geo Element, Zhongli, like Childe, has played a fairly prominent role in the Liyue story arc. While not much is known officially as to what Zhongli will be capable of, a rumored video recently leaked showcasing what appears to be Zhongli’s Elemental Burst: a meteor being called from the sky that seems to buff Zhongli as well as deal massive AoE damage.
Diona - 4 Star
Diona is one ofGenshin Impact’s new four star characters. Diona is a bartender at The Cat’s Tail in Monstadt and is proud of her Kätzlein heritage. Diona is the 1.1 update’s other bow user, however, she will join the likes of Kaeya, Chongyun, and Qiqi asan additional Cryo unit. Playing off her cat-like heritage and mixologist background, Diona’s abilities seem as if they will lend themselves extremely well to any team’s Support role.
Xinyan - 4 Star
The final character thatGenshin Impactplayers can look forward to on November 11 is Xinyan. While little is known about her or her background, it’s been shown through various trailers that she wields the Pyro Element as well as a claymore. While this maysound similar to Diluc, the game’s other Pyro/claymore character, it seems as though Xinyan’s abilities will be musically themed as she can be seen with what appears to be a four-stringed bass guitar.
While it’s currently unknown as to if all four of these characters will be able to be called upon immediately on November 11 or if they will be spaced out on separate banners throughout the coming months, it seems likemiHoYo has plenty of materialas it plots out the course forGenshin Impact’s trajectory.
