Summary
Fontaine is the first everGenshin Impactregion where players can finally explore underwater areas. With the special Fontaine blessing, traveling in the ocean no longer consumes normal stamina, making the exploration experience rather laid back and comfortable.
While there are a lot of Chests underwater, most of theGenshin Impact4.0 Fontaine hidden Chestsare located above ground. If players are attempting to find all 338 available treasures, then it may be worth checking the following list for any potentially missed Chests, which range from Bird hunting to helping Otters and Blubberbeasts.
9Bird Hunting
Head to the southern part of the Beryl Region, directly west ofthe Emperor of Fire and Iron inGenshin Impact. Sneak up on the five birds in the marked area and hunt them down using a Bow character.Be careful not to scare them away, and once all five are shot down, players will get an Exquisite Chest.

8Watch Crab Race
Still in the Beryl Region, go to the marked spot on the western shore of Elynas.Stand on the cliffand find two Crabs in a Hilichurl track. Players must either be careful and not get noticed by the two guardingHilichurls inGenshin Impact, or simply fight them.Do not kill the crabsas they’re required to spawn the Exquisite Chest.

Watch the crabs move along the track until they reach the end and an Exquisite Chest appears. Opening it grants five Primogems and twoHydro Sigilamong other random resources.
7Annihilate Crab Family
Go to thenorthern side of the Court of Fontaineand head to the shore filled with crabs. Beat all the crabs in the area and dig the available dig spots until two larger Pyro crabs appear. Defeat the large creature and players will be rewarded with a Precious Chest for their deed.
There are up to four dig spots that will spawn a crab, so make sure to check the empty shells in the area to find a hidden crustacean.
6Destroy All The Pots
Head to the pool around Opera Epiclese and dive to find a bunch of breakable objects. Borrow the ability from the nearby Armored Crab to be able toattack efficiently underwater inGenshin Impact, thendestroy all the breakable items. Once all the objects are gone, a chest will appear in the middle. If players are having a hard time locating the pots, they can use Elemental Sight to distinguish the color of interactable objects from their surroundings.

Players can enter this area from the Opera Epiclese waypoint, or head to the ocean and solve a puzzle in the nearby underwater gazebo. A Hydro Portal that leads to the highest point of Opera Epiclese will appear on the roof of the building once the door is unsealed, and it’s far easier to reach the location this way.
5Fight Hilichurls On The Buoy
All around the sea of 4.0 Fontaine, there are some Buoys with enemies on it. If players defeat all the opponents in theseven Buoy locationsand head to theWaverider Waypointin the middle (marked by an X), a Hydro Portal will appear to boost them up to the sky.
Once up, hit the nearbyCrystal Mechanismtoreveal a road to a Precious Chest inGenshin Impact. The road will slowly have a bigger gap between each other, so don’t fall as falling means players must redo the journey from the start. Once arriving at the Chest, opening the treasure will grant 10Primogemand three Hydro Sigils along with other useful materials like Ore andMora.
4Rescue All The Leisurely Otters
Leisurely Otters areadorable underwater creatures inGenshin ImpactFontaine. Rescuing the animals will cause them to lead players to a Chest, making the time spent worth it. However, not many people know thatrescuing all the Otters in version 4.0 Fontaine will eventually lead to a Precious Chest.

To get the Precious Chest, players must visit all the Leisurely Otter locations and help them. Afterward, simply visit their home to claim the reward.
3Berrypuff
Similar to the Otters, helping another aquatic creature inGenshin Impact4.0 Fontaine will also lead to a fancy Luxurious Chest. Find Berrypuff in one of the underwater gazebos and feed the animal five times. The feeding time requires people to wait a few real-life hours, and there’s an additional task before each meal.
Once Berrypuff grows big and healthy, the Blubberbeast will eventually leave the gazebo to hopefully live a great life. Before leaving,the creature will tell the players that there’s a gift in the aquarium. Search for a dig spot where people first find Berrypuff to unearth a Luxurious Chest.
2Co-Op Chest
Go to the spot southwest of theIcewind Suite boss inGenshin Impactto find twoLumidouce Bellplants forming a heart shape. Co-op treasures are available in several places in Teyvat, so once people notice the shape, it isn’t hard to figure out that a friend is needed to visit. Other co-op treasures include the heart island in Liyue, the mushroom jumping in Sumeru, or sitting with two other friends in the Eternal Oasis thrones.

Once both players enter the area, an Exquisite Chest will appear for the host to claim.
1Sweet Flower Chest
Go to the open field north of Poisson and pluck aSweet Flowerto summon a Whopperflower from its disguise. There aren’t many hidden Whopperflower in Fontaine, so players may have gotten this treasure upon noticing the rarity of the occurrence. The disguised creature can easily be distinguished as upon being close to it, the symbol it has looks like achatsymbol instead of the plant’s icon.
Take theSweet Flowerand beat the Pyro Whopperflower to spawn an Exquisite Chest.There are also twoGenshin ImpactClockwork Meka in the location, but players can ignore the dogs as the mechanical canines don’t contribute to this Chest spawn.
