Garcia’s Paean is a Liyue World Quest that was released during Version 2.7 ofGenshin Impact. This quest eventually adopted a similar unlocking requirement to previous world quests, such as Gourmet Supremos, where players can only unlock the next part by completing a significant number ofDaily Commissions. The downside of this quest is that it is completely up to your luck to be able to get this specific Commission.
The Liyue version of Garcia’s Paen is quite straightforward and can be unlocked by speaking to Garcia over at Wangshu Inn.Genshin Impactplayers can find him on the ground floor near an NPC named Lutong and will only be asked to cook something for him. The next part of the world quest is called Garcia’s Paen: A Gift of Compatibility, and this can only be unlocked by completing a list of commissions by Garcia in Sumeru this time.
Commission Requirement to Unlock the Quest
There are 5 commissions that you have to complete to be able to receive A Gift of Compatibility quest:
Once you get Garcia’s Paean: Key Items, that will start the first commission that needs to be completed before receiving the others. Unfortunately, there are instances where one can get Garcia’s Paean: Substitute twice; just know that completing it on the third try will eventually unlock the third commission, Garcia’s Paean: By Bearings. The quality of Insights does not matter for the second quest, as it will count either way.

The fourth Commission is a little different as it involves correctly answering a series of questions posed by Garcia to successfully complete the mission. The directions that Ahangar the Blacksmith needs to use are below:

The final Commission is similar to Substitute as players are once again tasked with submittingTreasure Hoarder Insignia’s. This quest will alsohave to be completed 3 timesto finally unlock A Gift of Compatibility.
Garcia’s Paean: A Gift of Compatibility
After completing the necessary commissions to achieve this quest, you will then be able to find Garcia outside Puspa Café in Sumeru City. The quest will eventually lead you and Garcia toAhangar, the blacksmith of Sumeru. Keep following through the quest until you have a conversation with Lutong about which ingredient to choose. There isno real consequencefor the choices, so you can go ahead and choose whichever ingredient order you want.
Each commission is RNG-based, and players never know when they will receive each one. It would help to be cautious and keep a look-out for when you receive a Daily Commission related to Garcia’s requests.
