Summary
AGenshin Impactleak has revealed the five-star characters that will appear in the upcoming update 4.8. Since the introduction of the new Fontaine region, every update has brought in at least one new five-star character, with Clorinde being the most recent addition.
Clorinde won’t be the only new character in the current update, as HoYoverse’s Special Program event confirmed the arrival of a new five-star Hydro user named Sigewinne, who has already made multiple in-game appearances. Although Sigewinne has not officially joined the live servers, newGenshin Impactleaks have revealed which five-star units will appear in the next update, 4.8.

Genshin Impactupdates are divided into two main banner cycles, each containing a double banner. These double banners allow players to pull for two limited five-star units at the same time, with a shared four-star lineup that always includes three characters. HoYoverse’s previous announcements have confirmed that a new five-star Dendro user named Emilie will be released in 4.8. The fact that she is the only new roster addition means that the banners in 4.8 will include three re-runs. A new post by Twitter user hxg_diluc has revealed which five-star characters will receive re-runs alongside Emilie inGenshin ImpactVersion 4.8.
Many fans seem to be surprised by the banner order, considering that HoYoverse usually releases its new characters in the first part of the update. Navia is apowerful DPS unit inGenshin Impactthat can fit into multiple team compositions, needing a powerful main damage dealer with a Geo Vision. She is also considered by many to be the most fun-to-use character on the roster.

Navia’s banner colleague, Nilou, is a must-have unit forGenshin Impactteams that rely on dealing Bloom damage. One of her passive talents turns the regular Dendro Cores dropped by Bloom into Bountiful Cores, which have enhanced damage potential and AoE effects. Many fans claim that even though Navia and Nilou are considered S-tier units in their respective roles, they will have to skip their banners to pull for Emilie and Yelan.
According to previous leaks, Emilie will be unique off-field support whose kit revolves around triggering the Burning reaction, which is less popular than other Dendro elemental reactions. Yelan is widely considered one of the best Hydro supports in the game alongside Furina, and she stillholdsGenshin Impact’s banner revenue record.
