Summary
AI is on everyone’s mind right now, though this was something that gamers saw coming long ago—through the robot-inspired games they play. Lately, such games have become more enjoyable than ever. Therefore, it is safe to say that the robots are here to stay and do not plan to leave anytime soon.
Granted, not everyone’s a fan of human-crafted Androids—a need for something that’s more machine and less ‘human’ stays consistent among gamers. Some players lean towards engaging storylines overtraditional action-shooter games, while others prefer to play on their mobile phones rather than a full-blown PC or a console. Though the list isn’t comprehensive for such games, it’s condensed here where there’s something for everyone.

Roboquestis a fast-paced first-person shooter where the story takes off from the year 2,700— wherehumans are living in desertsand struggling to stay alive. A young girl named Max comes across a disabled robot lying in the sand. She reactivates him, putting her hopes in the machine as a savior from the hurdles that humankind faces.
Players have to take up the role of being the reactivated robot and venture on a journey with Max to explore the nearby mysterious chasms. There is one problem, however—the place is surrounded by evil bots who’ll try to stop Max and her robot at all costs. Players would have to fight them off and search for answers about what these bots protect and why.

Steelrisingisn’t the typical robot game that one would expect. The 15-hour-long campaign drives the player throughscenes of Paris in 1789, where Louis XVI stopped the French Revolution with an army of robots. Now, the players have to overthrow the King through the character of Aegis—a robot dancer turned assassin.
However, boss fights and side queststhat include combat with machines aren’t the only things that make this game interesting. The dialogue, the characters, and the overall setting of the game are what draws attention. So, for all the history and tech nerds, this game is a must-try.
Although generally described as an action RPG game,NieR: Automataheavily includes elements ofhack-and-slashand shoot ‘em up systems. This means that most of the fights taking place will see players making use of different weapons, from launchers to melee weapons to guns. However, this multi-genre game has much more to offer than a vast choice of load-outs.
The story takes place on a futuristic world where humanity migrates to the moon due to an extraterrestrial attack on Earth, leaving behind an army of Androids to combat alien-created machines. The Androids are the main characters of the game. Through the characters’ own personal drama and the mystery within the storyline—NieR: Automatais a must-have on anyone’s list of robot games to play.

The Talos Principleis a robot-inspired philosophical mystery game. Here, players have to solve initially simple puzzles that build up tobecome more complex as each mission passes. The game includes ‘terminals’ or stages, which unlock as each puzzle is completed successfully. As robots, players are introduced to Elohim (the Hebrew word for God), audio files, and emails to help them piece the story together.
Furthermore, the philosophical ideas here give the game a whole new meaning. The developers have mainly focused on one key aspect: the nature of being. This is also visible through the users’ interactions with Elohim. Considering they are playing as robots, it’s easy to see how these themes tie together.

Titanfall 2aimed to make up for the flaws present in its predecessor while maintaining the core formula that resonated with players. The developers at Respawn Entertainment not only retained the multiplayer experience, but also introduced a Campaign Mode to provide players with a captivating story alongside the action-packed multiplayer features.
The storyline ofTitanfall 2focuses on the character of Jack Cooper and the Vanguard-class Titan BT-7274. Jack Cooper is left behind on Planet Typhon when his starship is brought down by the antagonist—the evil corporation of IMC. Now, thetitan and the riflemanpair together to end a catastrophic event that’s about to take place.
