Award-winning musician and celebrity gamer Grimes shares pictures of herself meetingOverwatchgame director Jeff Kaplan at Blizzard Entertainment’s offices. Grimes is a huge gamer and herpregnancy reveal photo was compared toDeath Strandingso it’s no surprise that she also lovesOverwatch.
On Twitter, Grimes posted two photos of her standing next to a very excited looking Jeff Kaplan who seemed unable to contain his happiness at getting to meet the popular singer. Behind the two of them is the famous giant Tracer statue. In the second photo, Grimes and Kaplan hold up anOverwatchLeague flag. It’s unclear whichOverwatchLeague teamthat Grimes supports, but new team the Vancouver Titans is the local team for the Canadian singer.

Fans ofOverwatchand Grimes have responded excitedly to the photos, which have been retweeted 2.7K times and have 26.5K likes. Many fans seem to be hoping that Grimes is working on something with theOverwatchdevelopment team. One fan suggested that Blizzard releases a skin to celebrateMiss Anthropocene, Grimes' new album. Blizzard has released some incredibleOverwatchskins before and aMiss Anthropoceneskin would look great but it’s unclear if it’s something Grimes and Kaplan spoke about.
There is also potential for Grimes to be part ofOverwatchorOverwatch 2. Epic Games once held aFortniteconcert with Marshmelloand Grimes, who has released new music this year, could use anOverwatchconcert event to promote it. The concert could celebrate the launch ofOverwatch 2too and give fans another reason to get together and let loose away from BlizzCon.
Some fans may be wondering if Blizzard could release a newOverwatchcharacter based on Grimes. Blizzard does have plans to release severalnew characters forOverwatch 2and while some of these have been teased, there are a few being kept quiet. If Blizzard doesn’t want to offer a Grimes character inOverwatch 2at launch then it could come as a later update.
It’s not just fan excitement that supports the idea of Grimes helping to create a character in theOverwatchseries. There will also be acharacter played by Grimes inCyberpunk 2077which confirms that it is something that the musician is open to and has a talent for. Nothing has been confirmed forOverwatchbut looking at how delighted Kaplan is, it seems like people at Blizzard are huge Grimes fans.
