The upcoming slasher sequel will be the third and final chapter in David Gordon Green and Danny McBride’s newHalloweentrilogy.

Curtis recently toldTotal Film MagazinethatHalloweenEndswill probably be her last time playing Strode. “I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her,” said the legendary actress, while adding, “And I’m not saying something like, ‘Oh, because I die!’ It’s nothing to do with that. I’m talking about emotionally what they have constructed. I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy.“Halloween Endsmarks the seventh time she has played the iconic character,however, the 2018 reboot ignored all the sequels following the original film, meaning Laurie Strode was no longer Michael Myers' sister. While little is known aboutHalloween Ends, Curtis assertedthatHalloweenKillsis a masterpieceand will explore the themes of trauma, community fear, and power.

Fans last saw Michael Myers escape from Laurie’s basement safe room. Despite being wounded and trapped inside a burning house, the post-credits scene indicated thatMichael Myers was still alive. 2018’sHalloweenrejuvenated the forty-year franchise, as it received positive reviews from critics and grossed $255 million worldwide on a $10 million budget. The long-awaitedKillswrapped filming back in 2019 and is slated to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival this September.

Curtis recently finished filming Eli Roth’shighly-anticipated action comedyBorderlands. Based on the video game series of the same name, theBorderlandsfilm followsLilith (Cate Blanchett), an outlaw who attempts to find a missing girl on her home planet of Pandora. The large cast includes Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt, Jack Black, and Édgar Ramírez. Curtis plays Dr. Patricia Tannis, an archeologist who specializes in Eridian artifacts and technology.

The franchise, which primarily takes place on the planet Pandora, has received praise for its sense of humor and multiplayer co-op gameplay.

Halloween Killsis scheduled to be released on October 15th, 2021, andHalloween Endsis scheduled for October 14th, 2022.
