The newest trailer forHonkai: Star Railshowcases upcoming five-star character Luocha, showing off elements of his story as well as revealing the character’s flashy gameplay animations. The first post-launch update for HoYoverse’s massively successful sci-fi RPG introduced a new management-themed mini-game for its main event and several side events for players to enjoy. The update also welcomed thefan-favorite five-star character Silver Wolfas its first new character. Now, the second half of Version 1.1 is set to introduce the mysterious Luocha as a new five-star unit.
While fans have yet to officially receive Luocha in-game, HoYoverse would offer a teaser duringHonkai: Star Rail’s initial launch version. Quests centered around Dan Heng’s exploration of the Xianzhou Luofu introduced Luocha as a “Trial” character, joining players' parties for the quests while not being directly controllable. Leaks have also given hints about how Luocha will play, suggesting he will be a support character focused around healing. Now, HoYoverse has officially unveiled the traveling merchant set to release next week.

Honkai: Star Rail’s newest trailer, titled “The Traveler And His Oath,” officially debuts new five-star character Luocha, showcasing the character’s gameplay. Luocha wields a sword as his weapon of choice while lugging around a large coffin which often doubles as a shield in combat. Luocha will debut asan Imaginary element characterin the Abundance path, featuring a Healing Skill that doesn’t consume Skill points on low-HP allies and an Ultimate that removes buffs from enemies. Luocha will be available on the limited gacha banner starting next week through the end ofHonkai: Star Rail’s Version 1.1.
Luocha won’t be the only new character to debut with the second half ofHonkai: Star Rail’s Version 1.1, being joined by a new four-star character. Yukong is set to feature on Luocha’s banner as another new Imaginary character in the Harmony Path, suggesting she will also play a supportive role.Leaks of Yukong’s kithave suggested her gameplay will focus on providing damage buffs, with her Skill increasing allies' ATK and her Ultimate buffing Crit Rate and Crit Damage. Both characters feature prominently in the story of the Xianzhou Luofu.
While Version 1.1 has two more characters coming next week, many fans have already begun to look ahead to the following Version 1.2 update. HoYoverse previously revealed a trio of playable characters set to debut during Version 1.2, highlightingthe release of the highly-anticipated Kafkaalongside fellow Stellaron Hunter Blade and Jarilo-IV’s Luka. Several other characters featured duringHonkai: Star Rail’s story including Fu Xuan and Xueyi are also rumored to become playable in the future. Luocha will look to provide another option toHonkai: Star Rail’s strong pool of supports.
