So far, the show has introduced quite a few dragons already with more to come in the future. The likes of Syrax and Caraxes have already debuted in the show, but none of them are nearly as fierce as Vhagar, the massive dragon from Old Valyria.
9A She-Dragon
While most of the dragons in the World of Game of Thrones are male, Vhagar is one of the very few she-dragons. In House of the Dragon, fans already sawSyrax, the dragon ridden by Rhaenyra Targaryen, as the first she-dragon.
Vhagar is another and will be introduced to the fans later on in the series. Expectedly, she plays a significant role in the series.

8Her Riders
Vhagar has had quite a few people as her riders over the years, as expected. Visenya Targaryen, the sister of Aegon the Conqueror, was her first rider. Together, the two took part in several fights and even set fire to Dorne.
After Visenya’s death, nobody claimed Vhagar for nearly 30 years. Eventually, Baelon the Brave managed to get the beast under his control. Following him, the lady Laena Velaryon became the rider for Vhagar for quite some time. After her death in 120 AC, Vhagar was claimed by her final rider, a young Prince Aemond Targaryen.

7Her Size
Vhagar is known to be a massive dragon. During the days of the Conquest, she was not nearly as big as the Black Dread, however, she hadn’t fully grown just yet. InHouse of the Dragon, Vhagar is known to be the biggest of all dragons.

6Her Color
Vhagar’s true colors have never been revealedwithin the story or in a supplementary bookwritten by George R.R Martin. However, the author has been asked about her colors in the past and according to him, Vhagar’s color is bronze with some greenish blue highlights.
Martin also went on to state that Vhagar has bright green eyes. This seems to have been well reflected inHouse of the Dragonas the few scenes of him in the trailers show him with similar colors.

5Her Name
Vhagar was named immediately after being born on Dragonstone. While it is not known who named her, the name itself was chosen after a god of the Valyrian Freehold.

4Her Age
Vhagar hatched from an egg in 52 BC on Dragonstone. During the Conquest, she was known to be the smallest of the Three Great Dragons, however, in the coming years she went on to grow nearly as big as Balerion himself. Vhagar lived for quite long and died in 130 AC. At the time of her death, she was 181 years old.
3Her Power
Vhagar is an incredibly powerful dragon. Being the oldest duringthe Dance of the Dragons, Vhagar is the most formidable of all the beasts at the time.
Being the mount of Aemond, Vhagar fought for the Greens. She is known to have had a century of battle experience and, as such, it goes without saying that she could easily take on any other dragon in battle. It is said that her role could shake the entire Stormlands.

2Her Fire
Vhagar’s firepower is known to be tremendous and with age, her fire started to burn hotter. Visenya notes that while Vhagar might age, her fires still burn very hot.
Her breath was described to be hot enough to melt armor and cook a human inside fully within a matter of seconds. During the Dance, she was certainly the most ferocious dragon alive.

1Her Death
Vhagar finally met her end in 130 AC atop God’s Eye. There, Aemond Targaryen rode her into battle against Daemon Targaryen and his mighty beast, Caraxes. The two locked in gruesome combat over the Gods Eye and Vhagar managed to rip open Caraxes' belly. At the same time, Caraxes ripped her throat out.
The two ended up crashing into the Gods Eye and, sadly, Vhagar didn’t survive the fall and drowned at the bottom of the lake. Caraxes, on the other hand, managed to survive for a while longer and pulled himself out of the water, only to die outside the walls of Harrenhall.
