TheCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale game has been a massive success for Activision, and so it’s no surprise that support for it will continue for the foreseeable future. But withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warset to launch in just a couple of weeks, fans may be wondering exactly howCall of Duty: Warzonewill be impacted. After all, it’s been said in the past thatWarzonewill be tied toBlack Ops Cold Warand leaveModern Warfarebehind, and now we have more information on exactly how that will work.

It’s been confirmed by Activision thatCall of Duty: Warzonewill stay tied toModern Warfarethroughout the month of November. But at some point in December,Warzonewill line up withCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1. Essentially, this meansWarzonewill reset to Season 1 in December, with anew Battle Passthat will allow players to unlock content for use in both the battle royale and the standardBlack Ops Cold Warmultiplayer.

Some fans may be wondering what this means for their existingCall of Duty: Warzoneloadouts, but luckily, players will be able to keep all of their old loadouts, even after theBlack Ops Cold Warintegration takes place in December. What is going to happen, apparently, is that all of the guns that players can unlock inCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warmultiplayer from level 1 to 55 will be usable inWarzone, so players can expect an influx of new weapons. Essentially, players will be able to choose between two sets of loadouts: one based onModern Warfareweaponry, and another based onBlack Ops Cold War.

This is a rather ambitious plan forWarzone, but it should be generally well-received by the community. After all, some players have spent a significant amount of time withCall of Duty: Warzone’s Gunsmith featureand building their favorite loadouts. It would likely be very frustrating for them to lose their loadouts just because a new game came out, especially if they plan on sticking withModern Warfareand aren’t gettingBlack Ops Cold Warright away.

On the flip side, it’s easy to see how this could lead to balancing issues.OverpoweredBlack Ops Cold Warguns, like the XM4 in the beta, could throw theWarzonemeta completely out of whack. It will be a challenge to be sure, and it will be interesting to see how it all plays out come December.

For now,Call of Dutyfans can still enjoyWarzoneSeason 6 and theongoing Halloween-themed Haunting of Verdansk event.
