Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Will Feature ‘Bond Bingo’ For Its Party Members

Footage from the RGG RoundUp shows that Party Chats will be returning through a new name, Walk and Talks, acting similarly to its predecessor’s use but with a bit of a new twist. Now, certain details about a character revealed from Walk and Talk prompts can be recorded byLike a Dragon’s Ichibanin a diary-like entry, showcasing his care and attention to detail towards his friends. These diary entries are set up like a Bingo board, where bonus experience is rewarded through completing a row, column, or diagonal line.

It looks like each newly recorded detail about a character rewards 20 EXP, while completing a Bingo grants an additional 30, adding another layer to building bonds with party members. Not only is this system a clever way to “gamify” friendship, but it stands perfectly in tune withIchiban Kasuga as a protagonist, who pays close attention to his companions. As the player, having each character’s Bingo board for reference looks to be a great way to keep track of their finer details, something that will be useful between long stretches of gameplay.

Like the friendship system ofLike a Dragon 7, completing bonds with party members looks like it’ll have an impact on combat as well. Interestingly, the prompt for Bond Bingo notes that filling in a character’s entire Bingo card will result in “something special” occurring, which could mean unlocking new Tag Team attacks or even a specialized job for each character. Given how strongLike a Dragon 7’s base classescould be for its characters, there’s even the chance that an enhancement to their initial jobs could occur.

Like a Dragon 7’s emphasis on friendship makesInfinite Wealth’s returning roster all the more impactful; not only will Saeko, Nanba, and Adachi make a comeback to help Ichiban in his adventure, but Joon-gi Han and Zhao as well. Newcomers Eric and Chitose, alongside past characters like the Geomijul’s leader Seong-hui and series star Kiryu will help to round out this compelling cast. As the team gets up to their usual antics through dramatic karaoke performances andhumorousLike a Dragonside quest predicaments, it will be endearing to see that Ichiban and Kiryu won’t be alone through their struggles in the more serious side ofLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s story.
