TheJeepers Creepersfranchise is more silly than terrifying, but the third entry,Jeepers Creepers 3, is still worth watching. The movie was released in 2017 and didn’t have a very long theatrical run, but it offers up the same guilty pleasure feeling as 2001’sJeepers Creepersand 2003’sJeepers Creepers 2.

Jeepers Creepers 3had a fairly low box office gross of just over $4 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo. But the movie offers up a proper conclusion to what could have been a perfectly entertaining trilogy…. if not for the 2022 rebootJeepers Creepers: Reborn, which isn’t as good. The storyline ofJeepers Creepers 3is just as fun and campy as the other two movies, and the ending will satisfy.

What Is Jeepers Creepers 3 About?

Instead of picking up from wherethe end ofJeepers Creepers 2left off,Jeepers Creepers 3’s timeline starts after the original movieJeepers Creepers. Sheriff Dan Tashtego (Stan Shaw) notices the truck that belongs to The Creeper and sees bodies inside of it. He realizes that something is very wrong here. As The Creeper claims his first victim of the movie, it’s clear thatJeepers Creepers 3will be no less violent than the previous two films. The movies never veer into disturbing or dark territory, though, which keeps them feeling light-hearted despite the heavy premies of a monster who eats people.

Kenny Brandon (Jordan Salloum), who is now a ghost after having been a victim of The Creeper, appears in front of his mother Gaylen (Meg Foster). He says that The Creeper is going to attack Gaylen along with Addison (Gabrielle Haugh), who is his niece. Addison then becomes the main character ofJeepers Creepers 3and serves as ahorror movie final girl.

The Creeper in Jeepers Creepers 3

In contrast tohorror villains with complicated backstories, The Creeper’s story is simple. He feeds for 23 days every 23rd spring.Jeepers Creepers 3doesn’t add anything new to this narrative, but that’s okay. Horror fans know what they’re getting into by the time they sit down to watch this film. TheJeepers Creepersfranchise is more silly and goofy than scary, and that’s why it works. There is definitely room for a campy horror movie in the genre, as proven by the2022 Blumhouse horror movieM3GANwhich has been praised for its campy vibe.

How Does Jeepers Creepers 3 End?

TheJeepers Creepers 3ending is both sad and also has a fun appearance by Trish Jenner (Gina Philipps), the star of the original movie. The best part is seeing The Creeper let out a frustrated and painful cry when he goes to Gaylen’s property and reads a sign that she wrote that says “We know what you are.” From this scene, it’s possible to callJeepers Creepers 3anunintentionally hilarious horror movie. The Creeper isn’t one of the best horror villains and doesn’t always seem to have much personality. But at this moment, he makes the audience laugh.

The Creeper kidnapped Addison earlier in the movie, and she fights back in an impressive scene. Addison grabs a metal pipe and strikes him right in the head. Addison escapes and Gaylen and Buddy Hooks (Chester Rushing) locate her trying to stay quiet in a nearby field. Addison is far from astand-out horror movie character, but she’s wise enough to know how to beat The Creeper at his own game, and that counts for a lot.

TheJeepers Creepers 3ending then leads right intoJeepers Creepers 2: Buddy is on his high school basketball team and gets onto a bus… which is the bus that The Creeper jumps on top of in the sequel. This is a fun choice.

The most memorable part of theJeepers Creepers 3ending is when Trish Jenner reads a note that she penned about avenging Darry Jenner’s (Justin Long) murder. She wants people to rally against The Creeper and help her cause. This is a smart scene that serves as a reminder that The Creeper may be a silly horror villain at times, but he has caused real pain and anguish in the lives of many families. When watching this scene, fans might also think that Trish is a more gripping character than Addison, and there’s definitely a point there. But there wouldn’t have been a place for Trish inJeepers Creepers 2orJeepers Creepers 3besides this quick cameo.

WhileJeepers Creepers 3isn’t the most engaging or compelling movie in the horror franchise, it’s much better than thepoorly made rebootJeepers Creepers: Reborn. After watchingJeepers Creepers 3and figuring out how the movie fits into the timeline, the franchise feels complete, and there is no need to watch the awkward reboot.
