The eight-person team visitedKojima Productions' swanky new studio in Minato City, Tokyo, which reopened its doors in late 2022 following extensive renovations. Kojima took to Twitter on July 31 to share a photo of his recent visitors, with many fans responding that they cannot wait for him to reveal more details about the Xbox collaboration.

This wasn’t the first occasion on which the tech giant’s staffers visited the Kojima Productions headquarters. VP of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg already led one such entourage back in early March, labeling it as the start of an “exciting journey” that will bring togetherKojima Productionsand Microsoft’s marketing, production, engineering, and cloud teams.

And while there’s been no official news about the project ever since its confirmation, one late 2022 report suggested thatKojima’s upcoming Xbox exclusive is a horror game titledOverdose. According to that insider account, American actress Margaret Qualley will be part of the upcoming game’s cast. Best known for her work onThe Nice GuysandOnce Upon a Time in Hollywood, Qualley already collaborated with Kojima onDeath Stranding, where she portrayed twin sisters Mama and Lockne.

That particular rumor seems to imply that Microsoft will be the one to finally provide Kojima with an opportunity to create a full-fledged horror game, which is something that he already attempted to do withSilent Hillsbefore Konami canceled that project in 2015 following its fallout with the famous video game designer. Apart from its mysterious new Xbox exclusive, Kojima Productions is currently also working onDeath Stranding 2and aDeath Strandingmovie.
