It only took three days of around-the-clock work for the Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG teams to open up more European servers for players ofLost Ark. On Valentine’s Day the teams announced that due to the overwhelming demand of players logging into the game, they were forced to create not just one new server, but an entirely new region of servers.
Thefree-to-play MMO ARPG launched last Friday to a number of bugsand queue lines that lasted several hours. Based on the surge and subsequent fallout, it appears as if the two companies underestimated the number of fans wanting to explore the lands of Arkesia inLost Ark.

Amazon recently shared that as of February 14, it hadalready accumulated 4.7 million new registered playersin the west alone (55% from North America and 45% from Europe). Those numbers don’t include the millions who have been playing in South Korea since the end of 2019.
The new region, Europe West, opened earlier today with eight servers (Rethramis, Tortoyk, Moonkeep, Stonehearth, Shadespire, Tragon, Petrania, Punika). By opening these new servers Smilegate RPG says they expect “to reduce, not eliminate” the incredibly long queue times for Europe Central. It promises to add more servers if needed, based on population levels. Players may need to reboot the client before they can see the new list of servers.
But before deciding to call the new Europe West region home, there are a few things to be aware of. Players will still be able to use Royal Crystals and Crystalline Aura but any redeemed, claimed, or acquired items will not transfer over. Therefore, in-game items like mounts, pets, and gold won’t transfer. Auction houses are also region-specific. Also of note, since this is an entirely separate region, players from EW won’t be able to queue up with players from Europe Central.
All players who log in between February 20 at 8:59AM CET (February 19, 11:59AM PT) through March 2 at 8:59AM CET (March 1 at 11:59PM PT)will receive the free launch celebration gifts that were announced earlier. What’s more, players choosing to give the new Europe West servers a go will be getting additional progression support. Not only will the last 10 days of daily attendance rewards be automatically given to all characters, but special daily attendance rewards for the first 10 days will also be given out.
Lastly, anyone who already purchasedthe Founder’s Pack through Steam or redeemed a key from Amazonbefore 12:00PM PT / 8:59PM CET on February 14 gets an extra set of the exclusive items they claimed along with some additional Royal Crystals. Players should start seeing these on Saturday, February 19. All additional Founder’s Pack items can be claimed on any new server, but Smilegate RPG states that players should be darn sure where they’re going to call home before doing so.
