Although theMarioseries features an abundance of fun, one aspect may go considerably unnoticed. The hair of certainMariocharacters is spectacular and iconic and may distract players fromjumping on goombas headswhen they are faced with the great hairstyles of certain characters.

Mariogames feature a range of party games, likeMario Kart,Mario Party, and evenMario Golf, with such a large library of characters under the Nintendo franchise and flagship game series, it’s no surprise that the detail and love for characters are present in their hair.
9Mario
It would be rather unfortunate if Mario did not feature on a list involving his franchise.Mario may be seen sporting his iconic mustache, and his red hat with a large ‘M’ printed on the front, but there have been a few times in the games whereMario has lost his hat, and let loose his locks. Mario’s hair is surprisingly detailed, with almost every strand being shown on his character model.
Mario’s hairstyle is rather unique, but simple. His subtle mullet makes for spectacular hair that deserves to be shown off more than he does. Hopefully, Mario does not wear a hat out of self-consciousness about his hair.

8Rosalina
It’s best for characters responsible for being the guardian of space to keep up appearances. Rosalina is the adoptive mother of the adorable Lumas and features prominently inSuper Mario Galaxy. She lives in space with her adoptive childrenand travels the universe on the Comet Observatory. Perhaps the lack of gravity is what allows her hair to retain its grand shape and style.
Rosalina’s blonde hair runs over her face, covering an eye. It’s a great look, with strands of thick hair spiked on either side. It’s long and luscious and fits right into the colorful world of theMarioseries.

7Waluigi
Waluigi is often noted for his lanky and tallform or his bizarre mustache on hislight purple nose. However, the secret feature that many may adore Waluigi is the hair he hides under his purple hat with an upside-down ‘L’ on the front. His hair seems so soft and is rather luxurious under his hat.
The light brown hair seen on Waluigi is shiny and seems well combed and styled. Waluigi takes care of himself to feature such spectacular hair, which is no surprise, considering the character is often seen as a romantic thanks to the rose he offers to players.

6Princess Peach
Princess Peach’s design has been mostly consistent throughout theMariogames. WithSuper Mario: Odysseyfeaturing the most detailed look at her character yet, many fans were amazed by the level of detail seen in her eyes, lips, and hair. Some players even commented that her stands of boldblonde hair looked like very fine spaghetti.
The hair featured on Princess Peach compliments her pink dress and royal crown well. As the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, it is no surprise that she keeps up appearances as a regal icon and one of the prettiest that theMarioseries features.

5Larry Koopa
As the youngest of the Koopalings, Larry Koopa must find some way to stand out, and he does exactly that with his hair. It’s spectacular how he can hold such a strong blue color, whilst also keeping it so perfectly styled and upright. Evenwhen battling Mario and Luigi,Larry seems to be able to keep his hair in perfect condition.

Unlike most of the Koopalings, Larry Koopa is not named after a magician, must is instead named that way simply because he “looked like a Larry.” His hair certainly screams Larry, that’s for sure.
4Toadette
There’s an eternal debate that rages on the internet amongst theMariofandom whether or not the species of Toads wear mushroom hats, or it’s their hair. For Toadette, the situation is even more complicated, as not only does she have a pink bulb with five white spots, she has a signature look of pink pigtails with three round plaits.
Toadette’s hair is certainly spectacular, as her hair is seen as a verybouncy and vibrantcolor. She certainly has more style than Toad, and it’s no wonder she is seen as happy and upbeat, with a hair-do like that.

3Bowser
Bowser may be the main antagonist in theMariofranchise, but that won’t stop the characters from inviting him to play in theMario Kartfranchise, or the othergames likeMario GolfandMario Party. Bowser seems to seek two things in the series, Princess Peach’s hand in marriage, and to take care of his red mane.
Even when dipped in lava, Bowser’s skeleton form keeps his red hair intact. Bowser has been seen with more than a few styles for his red hair, like inSuper Mario: Odyssey, where it was combed to the side.

2Lemmy Koopa
As part of the clan of seven siblings, Lemmy Koopa follows his brothers and sisters in the Koopalings as they seek to thwart Mario’s plans in saving Princess Peach from their uncle, Bowser. Lemmy is often seen as the child of the group, of his childish traits and size, and how he balances on a toy ball. Yet, his hair rivals the best hairs of theMarioseries.
Lemmy’s hair is multicolored, featuring pastel yellows, pinks, and blues, with even a yellow ponytail to finish off his mohawk. Lemmy has a great hairstyle that many dare not try to pull off, and it certainly helps that he has a magic wand to wave away the haters.

1Ludwig Von Koopa
All of the Mushroom Kingdom must look upon the mighty mane of Ludwig Von Koopa. The eldest of the Koopalings certainly proves his age and maturity with his impressive hair, clearly modeled after the same person he is named after, Ludwig van Beethoven. Ludwig von Koopa has dark blue hair, combed and parted in the middle, with two puffy pieces sticking out.
His hair is the most impressive that theMarioseries has to offer, and seems the only character that resembles an actual real-life person. Ludwig von Koopa may intimidate with his spectacular blue hair, and deserves the top spot for his hair.
