Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is one of PlayStation’s most highly-anticipated exclusives, and for good reason. The 2018 game was a triumph for Insomniac, leading toMarvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Moralescoming out as a launch title for the PS5.Miles Moralesgave fans a hint of what a true next-genSpider-Mangame could be like, and it impressed players.
WhileSpider-Man 2has only gotten a brief announcement trailer, there was a lot of information packed within it. Miles Morales and Peter Parker will appear side-by-side in the game, andKraven the Hunter was teasedas one of the game’s major villains. Probably the biggest news, though, was that Venom will finally make its debut in Insomniac’sSpider-Manseries. Venom will likely have a huge impact on the game’s story, but the alien Symbiote usually also has an impact on Spider-Man’s suit. New rumors suggesting Symbiote suit variants will appear could point to an even bigger change in the future.

Spider-Man 2 Suits Could Have Symbiote Variants
Even before Venom was confirmed to appear inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2,fans were speculating about what the iconic Symbiote suit could look like in Insomniac’s games. The black suit is one of Spidey’s most memorable looks, not only because of the design but because of the character and story that come with it.Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most popular villains, and fans are excited to see it in the upcoming game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is still a while away, but rumors are already beginning to circulate about what the game might include. A new rumor from FandomWire’s Elijah Boxhill suggests everySpider-Man suit in the game has a Symbiote variant. If that’s true, there will be a ton of suits to unlock.Marvel’s Spider-Manhad a total of 28 suits, so adding a variant to each one would come close to 60.

To add even more onto that sum,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2will likely have unlockable suits for Miles Morales as well asPeter Parker. Each Spider-Manhas a different aesthetic and iconic suits, so they should both have their own individual catalog like in the first two games. With that many suits, Insomniac might as well take the plunge and give the player full control over some of the finer design elements.
Spider-Man designs a lot of his own suits, but players haven’t gotten that opportunity. Despite the incredible array of suits available in bothMarvel’s Spider-ManandSpider-Man:Miles Morales,it would be great to see fans unleash their creativity with a fully customizable suit mechanic.
TheSpider-Mansuits are already somewhat customizable; each comes with a special Suit Power, but that power can be reassigned to any other suit. Upgrades can also be added to any suit in any combination. Eventually, it would be great to have a customization system where players can take their favorite suits and change the colors, edit the spider symbol, or add other customized design elements. Fans are incredibly creative and it would be fun to see what they could come up with if given the chance.
Spider-Manfans have been designingnew suits for the webslinger almost as long as he’s been around, and Insomniac could make all of those dreams become a reality.Spider-Man 2might not have a fully customizable suit mechanic, but the Symbiote variants could be a step in the right direction. It would be fun to see specific Miles and Peter variants of all the suits as well, each with their unique color schemes.
Full customization probably isn’t coming inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2, but the possibility of every suit having variants is a good sign. If this rumor is true,Spider-Mansuits are becoming more customizable with each game, and hopefully that’s a trend that will continue.
