Marvel games have always been an excellent medium for players to play as their favorite heroes and villains,from Spider-Manto Captain America. And while most Marvel games usually only focus on more popular heroes, like Spider-Man or The Hulk, games likeMarvel Contest of ChampionsandMarvel Snapshowcase a wide array of Marvel super villains.
But,Marvel Snapdoes have a significant advantage overMarvel Contest of Champions.Marvel Snapshowcases several lesser-known or underrated Marvel villains in unique card designs. That’s one good sign that Marvel fans will be able to see some of their favorite lesser-known villains in the future. And while the list of potential villain candidates is nearly endless, a few of them truly deserve to be added to the game.
6Toad
Unfortunately, the mutant known as Toad has had a less-than-glamorous spotlight in the original X-Men movies, further pushing this Marvel villain’s popularity down the drain. That’s one reason Marvel’s Toad action figure is a highly sought-after collector’s item. Very few figures were manufactured due to the popularity of the character.

But, Toad did debut in thelong-forgotten Game Cube gameX-Men Legends, where players could use him in their team (even though he wasn’t that good of a character). Toad’s powers can be easily portrayed in theMarvel Snapuniverse, perhaps giving him the unique ability to move any placed card, thanks to his toad-like tongue. So, while Toad wouldn’t be a meta-changer, he would be a unique support card that could potentially turn the tide of a match.
5Tombstone
Marvel’s Tombstone first appeared in the 1988 Phreak-Out in Times Square, part of the Web of Spider-Man comic book line. Tombstone also had a role inMarvel’s Spider-Man, where players had to defeat him by using a drug that weakened his rock-like exterior. And while Tombstone is far frombeing one of the best Spider-Man villains, he does have a unique set of skills that merit attention for video game developers.
For example, if Tombstone were added toMarvel Snap, he could share similar abilities to that of Colossus in which he can’t be destroyed or have his power reduced. Since Tombstone’s strength level is unmatched (compared to similar heroes), he could also potentially reduce the power of opposing cards when placed.
4Ghost
Ghost has been the antagonist of several comic book arcs, opposing protagonists ranging from Iron Man to The Punisher. Ghost was also seen on the big screen (Ant-Man and the Wasp), but her villainous nature was toned down a lot compared to the comic book counterpart. Nonetheless, the comic book Ghost makes for an excellent villain in Marvel-themed games,like that ofMarvel’s Midnight Suns.

Even though there are several “Marvel Ghosts” inMarvel Snap(Ghost Rider and Ghost Spider), Ghost would make an excellent addition to the villain’s team. For example, Ghost could have the special ability to “turn invisible” when placed, preventing any stat change. Additionally, Ghost’s power suit could increase (or decrease) a card’s power level at the expense of losing power.
3Arcade
Marvel’s Arcade is a villain that shares a lot of similarities with Tony Stark (namely wealth, intelligence, and an inflated ego) but uses these features for evil. For the most part, Arcade is one of the main villains of the X-Men story arc, but has also fought the Avengers at certain points in his life. This X-Villian was the main antagonist of the video gameX-Men: Madness in Murderworld, where he used various gadgets and robotic equipment.
Arcade would make an excellent villain inMarvel Snapand could potentially pair nicely in aDevil Dinosaur Control deck. For example, his main ability could be duplicating a card placed on the field or sapping the opposing card’s power. But, of course, ifMarvel Snapwould release more X-Villains, then a whole new deck could be created using only them.
2Tiger Shark
InMarvel Ultimate Alliance,Tiger Shark was among the villains that helped Attuma and Warlord Krang invade Atlantis and take down Namor. And while Tiger Shark seems more like a human wearing a shark suit, in reality, he’s a strong adversary to the kingdom of Namor. Tiger Shark’s strength can reach unprecedented levels, especially once he transforms into his Shark form, enabling him to bite chunks out of Namor and even The Hulk.

Due to his massive strength, Tiger Shark is more than a suitable candidate to join the ranks of villains inMarvel Snap. He could potentially have the same powers as The Hulk, allowing him to deal massive damage across the field. Tiger Shark would be a great counter to thepopular Pool 1 Namor deckplayers like to use.
1Dormammu
Marvel’s Dormammu power levels cannot be measured, especially considering that as a god/eternal, he has over 40 different powers, from Cosmic Awareness to Time Manipulation. While Dormammu is mostly portrayed as a mystical floating being, some of the latest comic arcs show him in a humanoid form, dubbed Hell-Lord. But, for the most part, Dormammu is a being that requires the assistance of several superheroes to take down.
There are several waysMarvel Snapcould portray Dormammu due to his vast greatness. For example, Dormammu can summon Mindless Ones (clay-like minions),meaning he could be placed in a Swarm deck. Alternatively, Dormammu’s “Hell-Lord” persona could be a high-tier power card that cannot be targeted.
