With the release of the fan-favorite map Shipment intoCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, players are split on what to think of the map. On one hand, the map removes the level of insane angles and camping spots of most of the game’s maps. On the other hand, the changes to the map from its original allow for some horrific spawning algorithm and chaotic gameplay similar to otherreturning maps such as Crashand Vacant.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers can easily complete their challenges and go on kill rampages as the new map layout for Shipment allows for direct lines of sight into enemy spawns. This has allowed for some insane things such as YouTuber Hamii’s world record of kills on Shipment, totaling 693 kills during a game of Domination.

Recently,Modern Warfareplayer jdoea posted online about a ridiculous quad kill they have gotten on the map. The clip begins with a death which is usual with the chaotic nature of Shipment, but once the player respawns things get nuts. The player spots four enemies directly in front and tosses a Thermite grenade at the herd of players, immediately slaying them and scoring an easy quad kill.

This clip continues on with the player grabbing another seven kills as they watch the players they just killed respawn in front of them. The enemy team became fed up with the person that just put them to rest several times in a row and decided to give them a taste of their own medicine by killing the player with a Thermite grenade.

It is great to see some maps return as a nostalgia trip from the previousModern Warfaregames but with the wayCall of Duty: Modern Warfare2019 was designed, the maps tend to bring up some balancing issues, especially when new areas are added to the map that was not there before. This can especially be seen in Shipment as players seem to spawn within arm’s length of each other at all times. This adds to the frustration of the flow of the map and has some players wishing thatthe map veto systemreturns just to skip playing Shipment at all.

With all the chaos the ensues upon the start of a match on Shipment, the overall style that the map is played can sometimes be more fun than the coreModern Warfaremaps that have slower-paced gameplay. Withsome improvements to the mapand spawning algorithm, Shipment can be a great map to play inModern Warfareand be the true fan-favorite map that it once was.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
