One of the things that most of Capcom’sMonster Hunter Worldplayers likely found very interesting about the game is how incredibly detailed the game was. Given that the game was first launched for the PlayStation 4, andoptimized later on for the PC version,Monster Hunter Worldfans were given a lot of eye candy to ogle at within the game. This does not only include the terrifying looking monsters, but also the famous dishes created by the Meowster Chef in the Astera Canteen. The Chef’s Platter still looks so tasty that a YouTube home cook recently recreated it for their channel.
With thelaunch ofMonster Hunter Riselast week, many players seem to have shifted their focus onto the newer game. With new monsters, new features, and maps to explore, fans are likely excited to experience a fresh, optimized game that was specifically produced for the Nintendo Switch. However, fans seem to have noted the lack of delicious dishes that were prominent in the earlier titles such asMHWandIceborne. InMH Rise, hunters prep before the hunt by visiting the Bunny Dango shop, and eat unique rice balls to get their pre-hunt buffs. A seemingly far cry from the mouth-watering dishes served by the Meowster Chef and Grammeowster.

With nothing too complicated to take inspiration from inMonster Hunter Rise, it is no wonder that YouTube cooking channel Binging with Babish chose to recreate theChef’s Platter fromMonster Hunter Worldinstead. The platter looks very complicated, and consists of several dishes in one. In the description box, Babish gave a brief background, stating that theMonster Hunter Worldplatter has been “haunting him for years.” This likely means that he has been trying to figure out how to make the dishes true to real-life, without deviating too far from the original content.
Throughout the 12-minute video, Babish meticulously prepares each dish that is part of the wholeMonster Hunter Worldplatter. He creates his own mix of meat for the sausages to skewer and grill, stuffing a medium-sized chicken to roast, and even creates a mussel seafood soup from scratch. In the end, he calls it “his chef’s choice special” as he takes a lot of liberty in the ingredients he chose, and how he cooked each of the dishes.
Though this is not the first time theMonster Hunter Worldplatter has been recreated, it goes to show that thoughMHWmay be several years old, there are still some features about the game that make it interesting for both players and non-players alike.
