Everybody loves a good epic comeback. From a classic hero returning to the screen to finally telling off that jerk of a bully on the playground, pretty much any instance of the word tends to involve lots of energy. But as fun as it would be, this isn’t about the latter. These days, it seems like everybody’s abuzz about possibly seeingDaredevilmake his triumphant appearance once again, and some new rumors are ready to stir that pot.

TheupcomingHawkeyespinoffEcho, which was somehow a sure-enough bet to be greenlit before the original series has even premiered, recently enjoyed its own little gossip mill regarding its possible inclusion of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil from the tragically short-livedDaredevilNetflix series. Naturally, those were (and still are) only rumors. But one particular industry insider appears to be rather confident that this info is more than just mere hopeful speculation.

Writer and movie scoop finder DanielRPK posted the original claim back on his Patreon back in August, alleging that Daredevil would play a prominent role inEcho. Now, he’s clarified his statement in another post (also on Patreon), saying “this is still very much Echo’s show,” referring to Alaqua Cox’s character who will first appear inHawkeyebefore going on to lead her own series. But even though Daredevil may not be a leading character, he might still bring some friends, as DanielRPK continued, “we’ll get to see all these characters from that show coming back and play big parts in it.” So if this info can be trusted, it looks like Nelson & Murdock may see the light of day yet again, at least outside of arumored appearance inSpider-Man: No Way Home.

Echowill star Alaqua Cox as the titular hero Maya Lopez. Unlike Charlie Cox, who doesn’t share the disability of his blind character, Alaqua is deaf herself just like Echo. The character boasts the ability to match any opponent’s fighting style, and in the comics, she was the first to hold the title of Ronin before Clint Barton/Hawkeye claimed the mantle. So there’s at least one connection between her and Hawkeye. Plus, aside from their actors sharing a last name (coincidentally), Echo and Daredevil also share similarities in their disabilities becoming part of their superhero identities. So it would certainly be fitting to see Daredevil show up at least briefly in her show. Given another rumor suggestingVincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Kingpin/Wilson FiskinHawkeye, crossovers may be the name of the game going forward.

It’s worth noting that, while DanielRPK tends to be a mostly reliable source for these sorts of leaks, this information still has yet to be confirmed by any official sources. So as enticing as these ever-multiplying prospects may sound, they should be taken with at least a tiny grain of salt. Preferablythe Angelina Jolie kind. That was a good movie.

Even so, there’s nothing wrong with getting a little excited, particularly since these rumors haven’t exactly been disproven. More Daredevil is always worth celebrating, even if it’s just speculation. After all, maybe if he comes back, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage could have a chance too.
