It has also become a big success among the anime franchises or series of the new generation with a huge following across the globe. My Hero Academia’s plot andset of unique charactersand decent story arcs are the reason behind the large viewership and success that it enjoys internationally.

MHAis set in a world where a majority of people started developing quirks or superpowers and as a result of this people started to be born with quirks.MHAis set mainly in Japan where some people use their quirks for ulterior motives and crimes and some people have become heroes using their quirks for the good.MHAfollows the story of a young boy called Izuku Midoria better known as Deku who was born quirkless but wants to become a superhero and save people with a smile on his face just like his idol, the former number-one heroAll Might. However, what would’ve happened had Deku been born with a quirk? Let’s explore this hypothetical situation and speculate how things inMHA’s plot would have turned out if Deku had been born with a quirk.

What Would His Quirk Have Been?

Deku who was originally born without a quirk despite both of his parents having quirks eventually inherits one of the greatest and strongest quirks of all time, One for All, fromhis idol and hero All Might. But in the hypothetical situation of Deku being born with a quirk, he would probably have inherited a composite of his parents' quirks, his father’s quirk of breathing fire, and his mother’s quirk of attracting small objects.

As a result of getting a combination of his parents' quirks, Deku would have had the ability to breathe fire while also being able to attract and manipulate already existing flames which he could throw at his enemies. This would change not just the entire story ofMy Hero Academiabut also Deku’s character traits and behaviorism.

My Hero Academia Deku

A Different Deku

Since the Izuku Midoria or Deku that the fans are familiar with, love, and admire today is because of how he is as a person which in turn is because of him not being born with a quirk. He wouldhave been more confident asa person as opposed to how he was in his original storyline, shy and awkward.

He probably would not have had his drive to become a superhero and save people while going plus ultra even in the toughest of situations. He might not have wanted to become a superhero at all as a person born with a powerful quirk doesn’t need to want to become a superhero and use his powers for good. As an outcome of this, he would have beenmore of a morally gray sort of character. He might not have had the elements like compassion and willingness to understand others in him.

My Hero Academia If Mirio Got One For All Lemillion and Deku

Who Would Have Inherited One for All?

Had Deku been born with a quirk of his own, he would not have met All Might the way he met in the original storyline and consequently, he would not have inherited One for All from the latter. Nowthere is only one solid guessfor who would have inherited One for All in that case, and it is Mirio Togota better known as the hero Lemillion as he was originally chosen to be the next wielder of One for All by All Might. It would have been highly unlikely for Deku to inherit One for All in such a circumstance. As a consequence of this,All for One would have targetedMirio instead of going after Deku like in the original story. And since One for All requires not just a physically strong but also mentally strong wielder for it to be used to its full potential, Mirio would have taken comparatively way more time to learn and smoothly control all the abilities of One for All unlike Deku who because of his undying spirit to become better and save people was able to learn to use them in less time.

However, the one good that might have happened in such an alternate story is that Deku might not have to struggle so much in his life and not feel the pain that he has had to go through every day since the moment he inherited One for Allfrom All Might in the original story. He might have been living his life like a regular person with a quirk, in peace, or he might have even become a villain and joined Shigaraki’s League of Villains or Paranormal Liberation Front. To think of what would have happened if Deku was born with a quirk, the possibilities are endless, but one thing is for sure it would have completely changed the plot ofMy Hero Academiafor better or for worse.
