With the release of theResident Evil 3remake just a little over a month away, the anticipation of what changes and improvements will be made to the belovedResident Evilclassic have fans incredibly excited. However, newly released footage shows that the hulking atrocity known as Nemesis has a few new tricks up his sleeve.

Resident Evilis an uncontested staple of the survival horror genre. When this landmark title made its debut in March of 1996, it blew audiences away with its violent imagery and unsettling atmosphere. Ever since the release of the first game, this series has possessed a tremendous amount of longevity that spawned six additional main installments, several spin-off games, an entire movie franchise, and even aResident EvilNetflix seriesset to release at some point in the future.

Ever since the remake ofResident Evil 2released last year with updated graphics and gameplay, fans of the series are incredibly excited to see other installments re-released in the same format, which includes the remake ofResident Evil 3.A lot of new additionshave already been made to the remake, but some newly unveiled gameplay footage shows a new and improved Nemesis doing a lot of things that he couldn’t do in the original game.

Nemesis can now sprint towards the player at breakneck speeds and can sporadically leap in front of the player at any time. To contrast the slow, lumbering yet menacing pace of Mr. X in theResident Evil 2remake, Nemesis is much more reactive, which will likely make for many terrifying encounters.Along with Nemesis' disturbing origin, this game will mark the triumphant return of one of the most iconic monsters inResident Evil.

As Capcom begins to unveil more and more details regarding the remake ofResident Evil 3,the game is starting to look incredibly impressive, with the redesign and use of Nemesis being the most noteworthy aspects currently revealed. Though,Nemesis has always been shrouded in mystery, so hopefully this remake will answer some of the questions that longtime fans of the series have had since the original release ofResident Evil 3.

That being said, there are some fans of the series that haveshown some concern in light of this new remake. With the release ofResident Evil 7and the remake ofResident Evil 2,the popularity of the franchise has certainly been revitalized in a wholly new way. However, the question remains, will the remake ofResident Evil 3continue the franchise’s recent popularity streak?

Resident Evil 3is set to release on April 3rd, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
