AValheimdeveloper has revealed a new feature set to arrive in the upcoming Hildir’s Quest update that should greatly simplify inventory management when working with containers. Besides this handy new addition,Valheimwill also be getting a completely new biome, new NPCs to meet, and plenty of other content in the near future.Even in its technically incomplete state, Iron Gate’s debut titlerapidly become one of the most successful early-access games in recent memory afterValheimwent viralin 2021. As part of the extremely popular co-op survival crafting genre, Iron Gate’s Norse mythology-themed adventure managed to stand out from its competition thanks to a variety of key features. This quickly results in some tedious inventory management as players end up with an assortment of chests containing their various materials, but thankfully,Valheimdeveloper Jonathan Smårs has shown off a new feature that will make this much easier. A “stack all” button can be found when interacting with containers, and players will be able to automatically deposit any held materials that match that container’s inventory. This removes all the busywork after a lengthy gathering trip, as players can simply interact with each chest and press the button to quickly place everything where it needs to go.
This new feature will be arriving in the upcomingHildir’s Quest Update forValheim, though there is currently no release date or window for the update. Hildir’s Quest will be introducing the titular NPC Hildir, and the update will provide players with a method for restyling their hair along with some new clothing options. Hildir’s Quest will eventually be followed up with the Ashlands update, bringing an all-new biome featuring terrifying new enemies along with new weapons and other items.
Although there are no dates set for these updates yet, one date that has been confirmed isValheim’s Xbox release dateon March 14. With the added support from the vast console player base,Valheim’s developers will hopefully be able to start introducing more content updates at a steadier pace. Still, even with its status as an Early Access game, players should have no trouble racking up dozens of hours bravingValheim’s beautiful procedurally generated Norse afterlife.
Valheim is available on PC. Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions will be available on March 14.
